"Leider seit dem Wechsel des Besitzers im Oktober 2023 drastisch nachgelassen! War vor einigen Monaten noch der Beste in der Region. Die Qualität und der Geschmack ist seit dem her aber nicht mehr so gut. Auch die grösse des Dürüms und die des Kebaps nicht mehr so wie es mal war. Bitte wieder so werden wie der alte weil ansonsten gibt es keine guten Döner mehr in der Region ausser Bistro Oriental Villmergen. Food: 2"

"Dinner at Niesenberg was the highlight of our short trip to Switzerland.The owner of the B&B we stayed at recommended this restaurant to us and without any expectations, we thought we’d give it a try. What a fantastic surprise it was: first of all the building itself is beautiful, traditional, cosy and very romantic. Service from our Dutch waiter was excellent and as professional as you’d find in a 5-star hotel. He recommended a fantastic Portuguese red wine which we’ll certainly try and get a hold of for our cellar at home. Then, the food, which was truly exquisite. They have set menus that sounded very tempting, but we opted to go for an à la carte main instead. They’re on the expensive side and we paid CHF 40 and CHF 50 for ours, but the portions are generous and I cannot remember when last I had such a well cooked and delicious piece of venison, with probably one of the best sauces I’ve ever tried. I would go back purely for this dish! My husband ordered the horse steak which was equally fantastic, and both dishes were served with excellent homemade sides (vegetables and croquettes). To finish off, we ordered the crème brûlée, which was the only dessert available that evening, and a small cheese plate. Although they were both very good, the standouts of the evening were the main courses. All in all we had nothing short of a perfect evening. Not cheap, but money well spent."

"Das Restaurant fand ich von der Qualität der Speisen nicht authentisch. Der Papaya Salat war richtig langweilig und die Curries waren größtenteils versalzen. Der Service war gelangweilt und überhaupt nicht herzlich. Für den bezahlten Preis nicht passend."

"Statt am Anschlagsbrett in völlig verfehlter Weise über das Verhalten der Regierung in Sachen Corona zu jammern und lamentieren, wäre mehr unternehmerischer Geist in diesem Hotel/Restaurant gefragt. Wo bleibt beispielsweise der Take away, liebe Wirtsleute? Für ein Restaurant direkt am See zumindest an den schönen Wochenenden fast ein Must. Aber eben: Es ist bequemer, Kurzarbeitsentschädigung vom Staat zu beziehen und diesen dann noch auf üble Weise in Misskredit zu bringen. Und noch etwas: Wo bleibt bei Ihrer Forderung nach Öffnung Ihr Verantwortungsgefühl für die Gesundheit der Gäste?"
