"I'm thrilled. My last meal in the Sparta has been at least 10 years ago and since then a lot has been done. At first I would like to thank you for the very good and accommodating service. Reception at the entrance, acceptance of the order, regular requests “whether we still have wishes” up to billing everything top. The modern style ensures a quiet and relaxed ambience that invites you to forget the time. Theme food clearly a 12/10. Here a very good taste meets good portion sizes. Price performance ratio perfect. I personally look forward to the next visit."

"We went to the Ratskeller for a family occasion with a party of six. The restaurant has a nice decoration and very traditional inside. Despite the reservation, there was not enough space to sit everyone on proper chairs. One person had to be seated on...kind of a sofa making her sit on a lower height compared to everybody else. However, the service was attentive and very helpful/friendly operating within these restrictions. All of us decided to order something from the specialties menu (a dedicated page in the menu). We assumed it would list dishes that are typical to the region and given that most of them started with Rat as the restaurant's name, we assumed that they would be good in preparing them. I went for their Ratsschüssel (probably council bowl would be a translation). It was actually a bowl. It was filled with a special type of pasta "Spätzle turkey breast, hollandaise sauce and cheese. The whole thing is then baked in the oven. Sadly, the Spätzle felt like frozen and the spices/herbs that you would expect from the local cuisine were absent. This dish was turned into a quite greasy bowl. However, I understand that everybody else was significantly more happy with their dishes. In particular, I got to taste some of the pork. This was actually nicely seasoned and well prepared. Remarkably, all dishes involved more or less hollandaise sauce and an additional bowl of hollandaise was served on a dedicated stove. I have never seen this before but it was quite unlucky as the hollandaise developed a skin and started to make a less and less happy impression. The service remained nice and attentive throughout the meal. In sum, the staff was helpful and the place has some atmosphere. However, my dish was not up to the proudly cherished tradition. But as mentioned, there are better choices on the menu."

"Edles restaurant with appealing decor, but not set up. On the contrary: relaxed atmosphere for feeling well. Operation very competent and friendly. No longer waiting times, the acceptance of the order as well as the servicing always promptly. The service is incredibly attentive, so I don't know how to do it better. The food was arranged appealingly and could convince tastefully. 5 fat stars for this great experience including views of the castle Altenburg."

"the restaurant is located in a former hat factory (real, true) opposite to the distances of a lake near the bridge that leads to the island. the interiors reflect a somewhat dated Italian restaurant. the service was excellent friendly and very attentive. after we. our order has been abandoned, we were served a free aperitif style drink and a free small dish (in our case a sweet and egg cherrine). my starter was a tomato soup. it was well prepared and tasty, although an additional part of the whipped cream appeared in a fried teig in the bowl easily dated. the net was generous in portion size. I had fed a classic saltimbocca nicely and tenderly. Although the ham had been beautiful and crispy, he was drowned in the sosse. the salmon was broken and deep fried, but it was delicious as anything else on the table. overall it felt like a timepiece in the past with real silver cutlery, correct alignment and the respective service. the interiors showed that this was on the way down. Although the menu appeared a little dated and showed a tendency to deep frying, eating at the end was beautiful and tasty."

The great ambience, the tasteful decoration, the super service, the relaxed friendly type of staff and the excellent food, have thrilled us and all our guests, as well as let the stay enjoy.
