"We discovered this authentic excellent restaurant by walking in this neighborhood; the residential area above Marian Platz. It was our best meal in Stuttgart and one that successful redeemed the horrible expirence in another one the day before called "Carl's Brahuse" in the turistic center of the city. Thanks the gods of gastronomy and hospitality for this little gem!Greeted with warmth and simple, unfussy welcoming, food was Delicious, sehr lecker, delizioso, tre's bon!!! With a welcoming easy going waitress who speaks English to make up for the German only menu. The food is very fresh, with nice generous portions, true and authentic to south of the region, feels like home cooking, more then a commercial restaurant and prices are just right, if not below your overpriced other, more touristic places...everything we ordered was great; the pork loaded with Chanterrle mashrooms (see photo) divine sauce, and the only German noodles I liked. The steak dish equally good. Salad that comes with both orders, was crisp with freshness and varied. It felt like a bistro type kitchen work. Beer was excellent! The place is steeped with history, books and good and sincerity. The owner lady was lovely- thank you! Anyone that wants to expirence a true, regional, deliocus and affordable cousin should try this hidden gem- it's worth the time and money! **** word of advise: cash only, but you will spend less here...P.S. We came on a Sunday and ordered mainely from the specials on the Black board (see photos)."

Essen-To-Go was very good. Pawn for the bowls and the cutlery a little happy, but you get that back. Service friendly, price quite cheap.

Beautiful restaurant with traditional Swabian dishes. The staff is very friendly and comfortable. The food is great and you can recognize the high-quality ingredients. Make sure to get a reservation or come You don't have time to eat, or you might have to wait for a bit.

Our apartment was on the same street so this was an awesome last stop before home for us. Great staff, great atmosphere, top beer and wine and lovely food. But what is it with standard German wine measures? 200-250ml? Good God above! Love the German way, not sure my liver agrees...

This place has a nice beer selection and simple pub food, mostly local dishes. The food is nice but simple. Prices are moderate. Service is swift and friendly. When the weather is nice, you can sit outside until 11pm. Atmosphere is laid back and plain. Patronage is very heterogeneous.

Visited whilst in Stuttgart for the street festival 28th June 2013.Lehen was located a block away from the festival and offered tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of the music crowds. The bar is said to have been here 120 years and appears to have had little change over that period. The local beer was certainly to my taste and the meal I ate whilst a curious mix of hot dogs, spaghetti and an almost curry like sauce containing belly pork strips - actually really fabulous!

We can't comment on the food because we visited this place to experience a local Stuttgart pub after already eating. It is very much a neighborhood place with a dining/drinking room and a smoking room with a pool table. On Sunday night it was very quiet, but on Monday it was packed with people of all ages eating and drinking at the communal tables. We ended up talking with a young couple, and the man's family had lived in the area since the early 1900s.However he said the neighborhood is getting too expensive for young people, so go soon if you want to experience a real neighborhood pub.

"Wow. Simply Awesome! Best dining experience my wife and I have had in several years, probably top all time, and we are real foodie snobs. They squeezed us in with only a couple hours notice. We got the course menu paired with wine....Little did we know that six courses in metric means First came the amouse bouse, a frothy chicken soup plus a croquette topped with dried mushrooms. Paired with wine of course. Then came a home made freshly baked baguette that was crazy delicious served with a dish of sour cream and chives as well as butter with pumpkin seeds. The bread was so good it could have been its own course, and the sour cream was the first of many unusual com I nations, but it worked. Next was a salad a combination of beet root, cabbage, Thai coconut milk and lemon grass. I hate beets and I loved this dish. Next wa the first actual course, duck liver pate and brioche with figs and wine sauce. Amazing! Now how about some slow cooked trout (which strongly resembled salmon) with tangerines and celery root. Then some white cod with Jerusalem artichokes and hazel nuts. Then, to cleanse the palate a glass of deer broth served in a glass like a brandy snifter. We're only halfway through. Now it's a slab of deer meat cooked like a tender steak, served with a cannelloni stuffed with deer and all set over mashed parsley root that could have passed as mashed potatoes. All garnished with an amazing deer gravy/sauce. Next comes some mont d'or cheese served with house made fruit bread, oranges, and rutabaga. Crazy com o but it was delicious. Now for dessert courses. Red wine sorbet. Think you're done? Next comes white chocolate ice cream serve with quince (purée, cubes, and foam) served with a chestnut parfait. Now we're stuffed, but time for another dessert: creme brulee paired with a chocolate brownie and a serving of mango mousse. Crazy good."
