I come here for years now. When I lived in Berlin I was a regular, and there is no Berlin visit for me without going at least once now. It's a self-service restaurant. Everything I ever ate there was homemade and amazing. The prices aren't bad at all, and the seating is comfortable. It's just one of those whole in the wall places that serves incredible food. I have lived on the Schönhauser Allee for over 3 years and I have to admit that this is my favourite arab restaurant in the area. This one is Moroccan. The falafel is freshly made, which is not the general case in many Turkish and Arab restaurants Berlin. The only minus is that they don't sell beer, but well, there are alternatives to Coke and pop scheisse, like bionade, club mate, and fritz apfelshorle. Nice guys working there, I think they take care of there customers and their business.

El Rief offers a range of meat and vegetarian Lebanese dishes at affordable prices. The schwarma, lamb and Mekahli dishes are very good. The people who work there are always friendly and welcoming. Although this is a popular restaurant there are still enough seating places outside in the summer and also indoors when the weather is cooler. The price for food and drink are very fair at El Rief. How this place managed to gather numerous positive reviews on different sites remains a miracle. I can only assume that a majority of people simply don't know the difference between good food and bad any more, due to lack of education.There are simple places offering over-the counter food which are good or even great, all over the world. This is not one of them.We had a sample plate, featuring most of their products. To start with, the salad was flat.
