"Fauchon is a combination of food store/dessert shop. If you're wanting more solid or savory food, there is a deli upstairs (it looked fairly expensive). But downstairs, it's this wonderland of desserts. Seriously, the food is so beautiful. It was worth visiting, even if you didn't eat anything just to look at the dessert displays. But eat something. Desserts weren't that expensive (6.5 to 8 euros, less than in restaurants and they were large). I had some sort of rose raspberry cream eclair and a lemon macaron. That eclair was awesome. Oddly and charmingly, it also came with a sample of rose perfume (they'd teamed up with a perfume maker on the dessert as cross-marketing, I guess). The perfume also smelled great. The store was a really neat place to shop. They had specialized merengues, honey, cookies, etc. and everything was delicious."

Ah, you flamboyant fabulous Paris institution, you, how I do love you The hot pink and black signage is so sexy, and the pastries are orgasmic.

When one of my friends told me she needed some recommendations of places to go to in Paris, some standard sites entered my mind: Galeries Lafayette, Le tour

Paramos lá rapidamente para um café e fomos surpreendidos pelo excelente croissant, crocante por fora e macio e delicado por dentro!Atendimento gentil, preço ok. View menu

Non servono molte parole: andateci e provate tutto! Offre probabilmente la migliore colazione di Parigi a un prezzo abbordabile. Un occhio di riguardo al croissant alle mandorle.

Very good service and top quality of pastry and cakes, also nice coffee of course, just the hard seating is not very comfortable. The staff speak very good English. This refers to the basic part of Fauchon around the corner. Would come back any time.

The place is kind of self service, the croissant are not as good as the Laduree few meters away from Fauchon, the deli sandwiches were excellent so was the coffee. The seats are uncomfortable and rather odd for high end place like Fauchon. Overall recommended View menu

So often big name places rest on their laurels, and Fauchon has just joined them, We dropped by on a fine afternoon for a cup of tea. Remember Fauchon sells beautiful teas, but what we got was a pot of hot water and a tea bag. Not good enough! If far more modest places can produce real tea leaves, why not Fauchon? I suspect they think it's because they don't have to. I've just noticed other reviewers saying much the same.I think they have to make more of an effort, and I won't be back.

Visited the Madeleine tearoom location for a quick lunch after shopping. Usually would choose Hediard but they're closed for renovations. Basic order...a croque Monsieur with salad, a glass of rose and mint tea. Very crowded with loads of the iconic pink bags so guests were already committed. Wait was interminable for such a small order. Rose came first (of course) but no carafe d'eau as requested, then tea (when did they start using teabags instead of loose leaf?) finally the sandwich plate after 25 minutes. Lovely presentation, cut in triangles served with two strategic dots of mustard. Additional mustard never arrived. Comte was oddly sweet (not aged enough), salad good with a nice vinaig...
