"I visited this place with a vegan Indian colleague who had difficulty finding suitable food in the center of the pig belt. I had high hopes since finally there was a native Indian to show me the ropes. Indian food can be an explosion of well tuned exotic spices. We were seated outside immediately. The place on this Thursday evening was only half full. We started with 2 appetizers which were some kind batter fried vegetable matter that could not be differentiated from one another. Blah. The accompanying sauces were microscopic portions and except for the green concoction were also blah. The main meals were a combo called thalis. I ordered meat including lamb, chicken and veg. He ordered veg. It was served with a massive piece of hot buttered nan bread, probably the best part of my meal. The stewed meats were over cooked, under spiced and over salted. They all tasted the same. There was an undressed salad on the side. I left half the food after having tried to dilute the salty concoction in basmati rice, the latter which was dry and cold. The drink recommended was a yogurt mango concoction that was mire of a dessert and which was recommended to offset the spice. What spice?I ordered a cup of chai which was indeed delicious. Bread and tea is not what I consider to be good Indian food. I will skip this place next time and have an excuse and have something else to do when dinner calls with my vegan colleague. Life is too short for bad food. Perhaps the Hindu god Vishnu should pay a blessing to this place and find them a new chef. Good service for what it's worth."

The Himalaya has a lunch buffet for a reasonable price. Food is decent, but nothing special. Service is ok.

Very nice indian restaurant, friendly staff, nice interior with view on the Rathaus. Good food for a fair price. Portions are big enough also.

we had a great evening with sympathetic waiters. the dish "mango chicken" was delicious and big, not too sharp, great to taste Indian food for the first time.

We were enjoying the appetizers and ambience until the main courses arrived. The curry and briyani were way too salty for our taste. Other than that, it was a decent restaurant. View menu

Unfortunatly i was the first time for dinner in an indian restaurant and i will never visit one again. The Service was ok but the taste was a disaster. My husband loves to eat meat but it tasted so bad that he left the restaurant without finishing his meal.

I am visiting this restaurant for last 10 years and really likes the food served here, mainly the lamb items - lamb vindaloo and bhuna lamb. They also have good options for vegetarians - bengan bharta. Mango lassi is a must try here. Overall u can enjoy great Indian food here.

After I had not eaten Indian for many years and had gone a day before this restaurant, I decided to try it. as the first customer of the evening I was greeted with a wide smile and discreet service. On the outside, the location is very central, at the main market place, inside simple, with here and there an Indian touch to remind them that it is an ethnic restaurant. preparation speed average, eat well, really seasoned for who like I'm not a fan of crazy warm eating. more than the average person can eat in portion (in particular the rise). price ok, (20,10€ for a person, with warm appetizer, second floor and a glass mineral water). good alternative if you want to change the taste of food. I love and know Indian food and must say that this place is in order. I went to dinner there and had papadums, chicken vindaloo and garlic naan. the service was in order though not super fast and everything looked clean and tidy. from outside it looks more like a snack, but from inside it is very charming. the food came quickly and was good. the selection of chutneys was somewhat spersome and not very creatiw (Mango "Marmelade", green chili and raita), but the papadams were crispy and dry (not oily). the basmatireis was as he should be and plentiful, the garlic naan was somewhat too oily, but still good to eat and the chicken vindaloo was good, but not exactly the vindaloo I had expected ......

Our group of collegues usually visited this place for a lunch buffet because it is fast, and quite Ok for a price of 7 EUR. But since this autumn they have increased it to 8 EUR and we visit them less frequently. The food itself is not bad: rice, soup, bread, fresh tomatos/cucumbers, chicken curry, dahl (lentil soup), vegetables curry. Sometimes they also have spinach chicken, lamb curry, or fried vegetables. However, their cook tends to put too much salt into the offered food. I know some lunch buffets do the same regularly (many asians add MSG as well) to make clients to buy more expensive drinks. I am not sure if it is MSG, but curry, soup, and dahl are always quite salty. Even rice might b...
