Very good step in the occasion of a family stay to discover the Nivernais canal by bike. We loved everything: reception- dinner- lodging- report quality prices! The local bike and free parking nearby is a plus

Good reception. We were on a bike in 1/2 pension. There is a safe bike local right next to it, the meal is excellent, you choose from the map, it is rare in 1/2 board. Breakfast was hearty, cheese, charcuterie, eggs... Hotel quiet and in the city anyway.

"I come from Clamecy where "L'Angelus" (The Angelus) is but discovered it only two or three years ago through a friend's invitation. I will highly recommend it, and not because it is in my hometown and I am partial, but because food there is truly tasty. If it was serving bad food, I would just not review it. Their menus start at €19 for lunch and include a 3 course meal or €26 if you choose the Burgundian dishes menu. You will have 3 or 4 options per course, which is really nice. The owner/chef has an excellent "Oeufs en meurette" (poached eggs in a red wine sauce: don't even think of driving through Burgundy and not taste that very Burgundian tasty dish!), excellent beef (our Nièvre department is renowned for its excellent Charolais beef), very good fish in a light sauce ("Filet de sandre": pike perch) and even some scrumptious rabbit in a wine sauce (come on, give it a try!). The chef loves quality ingredients, it is an absolute certainty. His desserts are all good, he does his ice creams himself. You could try a very Burgundian dessert: the "Pain d'Epices" (French ginger bread, a specialty of Burgundy, especially from Dijon). The service is made by his charming wife and another young waiter. It is not super duper fast but alright. The restaurant is situated at the side of the big Catholic church at the top of the hill. (called "La Collégiale"). Incidentally, there is a very nice antique shop right behind the restaurant so while you all wait for your appetiser, a few could discreetly slip over to the Antique shop and come back in time for the food! I was about to forget: we also had some very nice little appetisers with our drinks, before the meal.I will not comment on the wines as I do not drink alcohol... Bon appétit ! CB"
