"I really wanted to fall in love with this restaurant. It was set in a beautiful conservatory/green house looking room. The vines were lining the hills. The ambience was romantic, but it unfortunately didn't impress me. The sommelier was incredibly knowledgeable and gave us great recommendations. I enjoyed the wine the most out of this dinner. I was a bit disappointed by the dishes. First, I was surprised how many vegetable based dishes were served at this restaurant, but that was alright, as most of them were local. As with any Michelin starred restaurant, the food was tasty along with the wine pairings. Unfortunately, we felt like we had been immensely impressed by other one starred Michelin restaurants. The food here was absolutely high quality, but it just didn't take me on a gastronomic adventure especially noting the price."

We had a fantastic time. The servers our night were young and a bit robotic in their delivery, but this was more than made up by the fantastic food and ambiance. Hopefully we can be back!

The estate is extraordinary, on the restaurant side the service is attentive and I would even say that the sommelier is top notch. In terms of cooking, it’s impeccable! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Nice presentation. Average tasting food. None of the 7 courses made an impression. I gave it only 2 star because the last 2 dessert course were just super! super! super! SOUR of citrus lemon and orange. Not even a sweet ending! Not something I expect of a 2 Michelin-starred .

They truly have earned their 2 stars. The fake cork full of foie grass was a delight. The tenderloin and the the John Dory was amazing. My only suggestion would be to eliminate the black garlic dessert. I would include a 4 star only because of that but the overall experience surpass that.

Food is very good, using local produce cooked beautifully. Deserving of their accolades. However the wine list is very disappointing, mostly young Bordeaux, wines of the domain at debatable pricing, and very generic “rest of the world” selection. For a wine-centric place, it must be better !

Outstanding food and service. The chefs highlight a few simple ingredients on their dishes without overpowering add ons. Truly a joy watching the chefs prepare dishes with such care and passion. So much flavor in every bite of these dishes, the menu is truly a journey. Take your time and enjoy the ride!

in the context of a two star restaurant this place is slightly below average. the food isn't amazing but it's still pretty good. I don't think it's worth the trip out from Bordeaux much less any city further out. the hotel is extraordinary though so if you happen to be staying there for more than one night you'll want a reservation at this restaurant otherwise the other restaurant at the hotel offers a much more unique experience due to its setting.

"We had met people of a mid evening flight and knowing they would be hungry decided to eat before returning home. The Leon de Bruxelles is quite close to Bordeaux airport at Junction 14, and as the day before I had received a €20 discount voucher, we decided to eat there. The restaurant was two thirds full, but the restaurant was clearly under staffed. We waited ages before being seated, and the manager at the bar, did not acknowledge our arrival or make any attempt to expedite the situation. By this time the queue was now outside the door.Eventually we were shown to a booth, which was a little tight for comfort, but we managed. After another long wait we were presented with the menu and ordered promptly. At this time I advised the waitress that I had a €20 discount voucher and asked whether she wanted it then or on presentation of the bill, she elected to take it then and there. The moules were very nice, not outstanding but nice, although discount any picture of the moules flowing over the sides of the serving pot, they did not, infact the pots were barely more than half full, perhaps they were economising because I had a discount voucher. The fries were excellent. When the bill finally came, and it seemed to take all day, I noticed that the discount had not been taken off of the bill. The waitress said she had forgotten and would bring a revised bill, which again took for ever. The staff were very pleasant, but clearly the restaurant is drastically understaffed, with long waits and none of the usual French pleasantaries. There are a number of restaurants a stone throws away from the Leon, which will get my custom in the future."
