"My family and I ate dinner at La Grange during a quick weekend getaway to Verbier. The only remarkable thing about the evening was the price of the meal (well, no surprise there as it's Verbier.) While the décor is your typical Swiss vieux bois that is pretty, the food really wasn't. We ordered the tuna tataki, prawns and buffala mozzarella as starters. The mozzarella was excellent. The tuna was okay but it was sliced much too thickly for a tataki. The prawns were pretty insipid, breaded in something and swimming in a sea of sweet and sour sauce that could have come out of a can (for those of a certain age who grew up in the US the sauce evoked a can of La Choy which promised in the mid 1970s that “La Choy makes Chinese food, swing American”.) The sauce basically seemed to serve the additional purpose of ensuring the mystery breaded coating was soggy by the time you ate the prawn. I ordered a steak that was fine (hard to mess up a ribeye) although it was accompanied by so so fries that were seriously over salted. My daughters had pasta (a favorite dish) that neither enjoyed and left largely uneaten. My wife ordered sole (CHF 52) that was remarkably rubbery. So rubbery that it was actually hard to cut (which shouldn't be a problem for sole) and we initially thought it was undercooked. The waiter, to his credit, inquired how the fish was and upon speaking with my wife took it back into the kitchen and they cooked it a bit more. Upon the re-plating and return of the fish, it remained just as rubbery. You could actually stretch the fillets and upon release they would spring back to their original shape much like a giant rubber band – something we've not experienced with sole before. My wife gave up (although the waiter offered to have the kitchen prepare another one, she'd lost her appetite at that point.) For dessert my wife and children had ice cream and sorbet. I had mousse au chocolate. The mousse had a good texture, but literally no flavor. Bland chocolate mousse isn't something I've come across. And to top it all off upon returning to our hotel, let's just say I needed an urgent visit to the bathroom. So along with the CHF 400 bill (no offer to comp anything despite the inedible sole) the prawns must have been a “parting gift” or perhaps a non amuse bouche. We will avoid La Grange on our next Verbier trip."

The place is friendly and pleasant and so is the service. Good wine list. Traditional food of variable quality (Cheese fondu good, turnedo second rate.) Way too expensive for what you get.

8.1.17 We stopped here in hopes of trying the food at 16:00H but the restaurant was closed until 19:00H. We had a couple of Warsteiner Beers and left disappointed. the Doctor hit me with some LOVE and a helpful vote!

Had dinner with Friends at la grange and everything about it was simply perfection. The service was great and the langoustines were perfectly made !! As a first timer in Verbier , it was the final ice cap to my stay .. View menu

They saved me from starving after the first concert night, and I kept going back. Delicious dishes (their lunch menu is a steal for any foodie), excellent service by young professionals, and nice atmosphere (they got creative with stylish dividers indoors).

We were here at the end of ski season on Wednesday night. We expected a near empty restaurant. On the contrary, it was fun. Well, I'm sure the kids would have arranged a surprise dessert that people were doing and didn't count for anything. Despite the high prices here in vermin, there was a festive evening.

La Grange is a solid choice in Verbier. The menu is important and the daily specials numerous. I had a mixed salad tailored to my choice and pork steak with Rosti. Both quite satisfactory. Service was excellent in a very busy night. My companions seemed equally happy with the Veal steak and the Asian style seared tuna. View menu

I've come several times and have kept a good memory. I have to say I was a little disappointed. welcome always very pleasant warm and friendly. But the kitchen seemed to me tonight a little weak. mushrooms almost boiled and without great taste of vegetables, some of which had the characteristic of green wood in edible, . Too bad it will have to come back

considered one of the best restaurants of verbier, my friends and I were a little disappointed by the setting of this restaurant that has nothing exceptional... from the restaurant terrace almost no view of the mountains, while at the mountain it is well what we are looking for. On the other hand, very welcoming and very smiling staff, good cuisine typical of Switzerland, the portions are very - or too - copyy. beautiful wine map. Despite the setting that was expected to be greater, this restaurant remains a safe value for its cuisine and service.
