"I stumbled across this place after a morning of museums and wanted somewhere warm and cosy for a good meal before returning to Rome. Important: this place is under new management, so please ignore any old reviews (especially the negative ones) from before December 2017. This place is genuine and the guys that run it are keen to make a good impression. It's not that cheap, but then you are in central Siena and you would pay the same for much, much poorer quality in the Campo. To put it into context, I had 3 glasses of wine, a small bottle of water, generous board of meat and cheese and a delicious plate of gnocchi and a coffee on the house. The standard was excellent, the service speedy without rushing you and just a lovely, genuine and friendly atmosphere. Places like this are not easy to find you can have an aperitivo at the bar or a very good meal at the few tables inside, in the knowledge that you will be in safe hands. I will certainly recommend this to everyone I know and will return here the next time I am in Siena for definite!"

Delightful. Caprese and Brunello. The proprietor is very friendly. Agreed that caprese is perfect in the summer but pasta better on a cold day.

This place is tiny but full of charm, friendliness and incredible food. You will love the bruschetta, the antipasto and the cured meats. The servers are warm and friendly. The owner is charming and welcoming.

We had an expectation from this restaurant because we reed here very good reviews. We ordered for first course cheese plat with jam and it was really good tasting we liked it very much. The fig jam was great. Than we got the second course and we had a big disappointment. The tomato pasta was way to much oil, almost drowned in oil!! The fungi pasta was very sour. We didn't waste our time for a dessert here. View menu

This is a cheerful sort of clip joint. Like all the other mugs, we landed up here because everywhere else was full. Reserve anywhere else on a Saturday night to avoid our grim fate. My friend’s fork was sticky. The carbonara was stone cold, made by adding beaten egg to cold pasta. Not okay. None of the food was good. The bottle of indifferent local wine which would have been ok at 4 euros for 500ml was 22 euros for 750ml. There is nothing redeeming to be said of this place apart from they were prepared to feed us.

My sister and I happened upon this restaurant when walking around Siena one evening looking for a place for dinner. It seemed like a good spot mostly because it was so small and cozy. We sat outside at one of the two tables they had set up. I had never had tagliata before, so I ordered that, and my sister got a pene pasta, and we got a few glasses of wine. The tagliata was out of this world. I thought it was incredible. I realized that maybe that was just because I had never had it before, so for the rest of our trip I kept ordering it. I had some other good ones, but never as good as at this place. And the price was totally reasonable!

After a morning tour, we were looking for a place that eat. We happened on this small restaurant and were advised service would be 20 mins as chef was out. We were happy to wait but would have liked a drink to pass the time. Menu in Italian only and we thought we could work it out. Mine was the meats, cheese and soft cooked egg, which was a large board for lunch, but delicious. My wife thought she ordered a salad but a hot layered meat dish arrived. Not being a meat fan, I had a taste and it was also delicious. We asked for a bottle of chianti and we were offered 2 choices and went for the reserve. All for 40 euro and a complimentary limoncello to finish I would visit again but get the Engli... View menu

Ignore the poor reviews for this restaurant, they are all by those who fail to understand that this is Italian food as the Italians like with no concession made for ignorant Brits or Yanks. After a morning sightseeing, this was just what we were looking for. A small, private trattoria serving proper homemade Italian food sourced locally. The restaurant is tiny with a few tables inside and just three outside. Food, service and ambiance is rustic with no frills but the food is delicious and beautifully presented with a good standard selection and a 'specials ' board which regularly changes. Price for two of us for a main each and three glasses of Chianti Classico was €40, so not the cheapest b...

Visited for late lunch. The signs were there immediately, but we were tired after a lot of sightseeing. The table next to us had just 'finished ' but lots of food were left on their plates. Our table needed clearing- it was- but the waiter did not wipe up and simply left the mess. Husband 's glass of wine was filthy. Asked for a new glass and an even dirtier one was brought. Should have bailed then, but as I say, we were tired. My first choice was finished , so I took the second of his suggestions. 5 mins later he arrived to say that was also finished . I chose again. It turned out to be the worst meal I 've had in about a decade. Gnocchi in a creamy cheese sauce with 'pancetta ' or more acc...
