"well, good. that happens if you don't plan on the Chinese New Year. My friends in London were looking to dine out and decided on trying a Vietnamese restaurant.

I was very disappointed with this restaurant. I had always heard great things about their banh cuon, but it didn't live up to the hype.

Out of the numerous Vietnamese restaurants along Kingsland Road, I chose this one evening because it was conveniently located near a nearby pub.

an honest thought. the good news is the price is really cheap. but the con is that it doesn't taste so good. unless they improve cooking, I can't see it as a favor. View menu

I have been really into Vietnamese food recently. I'm not exactly sure why, but I think it has to do with the amazing weather this summer and feeling like I should be eating lighter and fresher.

eating was okay, nothing special. years ago this place was one of the first places where I tried vietnamese, but obviously after the taste that they have become compromising and like most other Vietnamese restaurants. this is my favorite type of food, but it is becoming more and more difficult to find a place that aligns me back to these amazing flavor combinations and unique. maybe it's time to get the real thing instead of London versions lol

loong kee has arranged a great selection of Vietnamese, but the special drawing card for our visit was their famous web cuon rolling. we had a plate of pork rolls that damped and with the traditional dip sauce and tasted super. service is polite and fast, and they allow byob for beer and wine that is a beautiful surprise among london's busy restaurants. while the device is somewhat lacking, the quality of the food and convenient location make more than for it. We were very pleased with our meal at this restaurant, as it truly satisfied our craving for Vietnamese cuisine. The quantity and quality of the food were outstanding, making this place a hidden gem in our opinion. While it may not be considered fine dining, the delicious flavors speak for themselves. This restaurant is a perfect example of substance trumping style. It seems that on the Vietnamese strip, the simpler the restaurant, the more authentic the cuisine. Would you agree?

We like ........ Last weekend saw our little supper club strong and heading over to Hackney for a Saturday night feast at Loong Kee. After a couple of beers at The Dove, which was a very pleasant pub and comes highly recommended, we wandered a couple of minutes down the road to the brightly lit restaurant. Fortunately we had taken the precaution of booking because at Loong Kee was absolutely heaving It was all hustle and bustle, and fairly chaotic, but we were soon found a table in the basement area (like a lot of basement rooms this one had a bit of a musty whiff about it which the owners had tried to ward off with incense not so bad that it would put you off your dinner...read more
