Want Oysters the this is the place to go. Had planned on a trip here in 2015 but a ten day hospital stay prevented that trip. However, 2016 trip involved one thing a trip to Arcachon for oysters. Was the wait worth it -- you bet. Fresh delightful taste of the fresh ocean air.

We were walking around the indoor market came across this wonderful little place. Situated at one end of the market, we were lucky enough to find a place to sit. We ate wonderful fresh Arcachon oysters, whelks, prawns langoustines while watching life go...on throughout the market. A great way to spend an hour. All reasonably priced.

This bar is really the must-have-tasted in Arcachon - even if not open in the evenings, but during the day you get the really best and most various offer of oysters depending of course from what is currently harvested. The prices are very reasonable, the service is friendly and fast and - well the oysters - are the best I have ever tasted. Go there whenever you have the chance - absolutely must in Arcachon!!!!!!!!

We knew we wanted to eat here because of the queues of people always trying to get a table. The restaurant has a real bustle about it as it is located on the indoor market. We went early (11:45) so as not to be disappointed and ordered the plateau for two. We were served with oysters, bulots, prawns, smoked salmon and pâté as well as bread and a selection of mayonnaise. The smoked salmon was the best we have ever had but the whole meal was amazingly fresh and truly delicious. An absolute must for seafood lovers in Arcachon.

We visited the market early in our holiday, and at the stall I was generously offered an oyster to try; I had asked which were best and told the four seasons (seasonally available July-August). It was fabulous, the essence of the sea. I promised myself...a dozen so returned on my own (my wife and young kids rejected the offer to join me in this delicacy). I had a dozen, with white wine. I tried them alone, with lemon and with the shallot vinegar. All ways were good but my favourite was just a little lemon juice. They were delicious, and the market setting lovely. I will be back, hopefully maturing children will one day brave it and join me; I hold out no hope for my wife who will never know...

This place was a bit hard to find, but fortunately we found it. It's in the City Market where the locals buy their vegetables and seafood - way in the back. You can buy oysters to go or you can eat them on the spot. We actually got the big seafood plate to share...which had lots of seafood. Shrimp, whelks, periwinkles and lots of oysters. All of it was so good and so fresh, especially the oysters. They were set on ice, so they were nice and cold, plump, juicy, great flavor and not too salty, and no sand or shell pieces. We had to go there three times to get served.It is in the centre of the most touristic part of Arcachon; still it behaves on working hours of a hundreds years ago.We arrived at 14h00; sorry, we're closed.Well, sorry, it's me the tourist; I have money; you live from my money, buit it seems that you want to continue to do business according to your timing.On holidays I get up lazy (isn't this the first principle of holidays); then I make the breakfast to please my wife, then we finish eating breaklfast at 10h00 or 10h30; and then I should have lunch 1h30 later????This is for a fisherman that gets ut at 6 AM, not a tourist time.Second try: 13h00: sorry we want to clsoe in a few minutesthird try...

We love seafood and came across this recommendation online, we drove down from saint emilion just to see what people were raving about! Were so glad we did, the platter was fantastic, the prawns were giant and so full of flavour, and we ordered a smoked salmon fillet on the side and I honestly have never tasted anything like it - was served on a board on a rope (how it had been smoked) it tasted so fresh and the smoke flavour was perfect ... my husband is a big Oyster fan and has them most places we go and said these are up there with his top 3 places his had them! given that they also serve bread with the fish (as most places in france do) was the best compliment to change up the flavours a...
