"I visited the Made Inn on foot a few weeks ago, as I 'd heard that if you enjoy real ale, this is the place to go. I honestly thought it was an overpriced joke. I walked in, and got a strange look from some local stalwart customers. A man behind the bar (whom I assume was the landlord asked what I 'd like to drink. I said I 'd like a traditional, English bitter. Something like a Greene King IPA, or a Wells Bombardier, maybe Youngs, or Adnams. Something like that. Well, the man looked at me as if I had three heads, and said Mmm, the closest thing you 'll get to that is a .......(a name I can 't remember. I thought this was odd, considering there were about 300 different beers available, displayed on a computer monitor, but thought he must know his beers, so I took his advice. I shouldn 't have done. The beer, yet again, tasted sharply of citrus, like they all do these days. Why do all so called real ales not taste of real ale any more? What happened to the more traditional flavours like Abbot Ale? To top it off, I was charged £6.00 for my pint, which is extortion at its worst. I felt as though the landlord was disinterested in my request, which was odd considering the Made Inn specialises in real ale. I went to Wetherspoon a few hundred yards down the high street, and ordered a Ruddles Best ale for £1.69, (no, that 's not a misprint and it was much better. I then had a John Smiths for £1.39, which is something else the Made Inn doesn 't offer. I honestly don 't know why the Made Inn is rated so highly."

Had a couple of drinks in here the other day and was a lovely welcoming atmosphere. Beer was great if a little pricey but I don’t mind paying that little bit more for something different.

Excellent bar in Ashford. Amazing selection of great beers, knowledgeable staff. The owner (didn’t catch his name) is one of the nicest blokes you’ll meet, making the experience all that much better. If you happen to be in Ashford, it would be rude not to stop in for a pint or five.

We visited The Made Inn after a day at a vineyard in Kent, as recommended by our friendly taxi driver. We stumbled upon an open mic night for musicians and were blown away by the talent. One young man on keyboard wowed the audience with a mix of classical and contemporary pieces, leaving everyone in awe. We give 5 stars to the pub, the staff, the amazing music, and the welcoming atmosphere.

This cozy pub is the perfect spot for a couple of drinks. My partner and I have only been coming here for a few weeks since we're new to Ashford, so we haven't experienced much of the live music yet. However, we've really enjoyed what we have seen. The bartender is friendly and easy to chat with, making us feel right at home. The atmosphere is fantastic and we would definitely recommend this place.

Bigger and better choice of beers following a refit during the pandemic, made great efforts to keep open wherever covid regs allowed but never at the expense of compliance with those regs, still the same great group of people. Recent tie-in with independent restaurant means you can now get bar snacks and food delivered while still supporting local business and small producers and is the cherry on the cake. Heavily recommended. View menu

Lovely little micropub, with great beer options and always perfectly presented. Prices are high if you 're used to 'Spoons, but are not in context of good quality craft, and certainly not if you 're used to London prices! Best thing is the clientele; with a strong regulars vibe, a warm welcome is pretty much assured and as such, it has much of the feel of an old locals pub; you know, the sort that have largely disappeared across the UK in the last 10 years. I 've only recently discovered the pub but I now find myself tempted towards it after work, even though it 's in the opposite direction to my house. Top.

I like micropubs and have been to many. In fact I always hunt them out whenever I visit a town. This one didn't disappoint. However the prices (for me) seemed a bit on the steep side. The owner explained that the majority of the beers were (key) keg and so were always going to be more expensive. With the 1050 from Victoria in Strood pegging their beers at £3, I couldn't see why the preference was for key keg beers at almost £5. The beer was spot on, and the conversation with the owner interesting. I little bit larger than you average micro, with a room upstairs as well as out the back plis a small yard. I'd be more than happy to visit again.

"Our excitement to see this café open allowed us an opportunity for some needed refreshment . Oh a cup of tea and a slice of cake or a little available small snack was what we needed . We were told by an employee sit down we come to you , so we did .. Another staff member standing behind the counter looked over and frumpy look called the cook who had the same frumpy look and went back to cooking , We : waited , waited , waited , waited and saw the frumpy counter woman still in the same spot , we waited and waited then left , maybe she was glued to the floor . We looked left and saw a pub named the Pheasant, oh drink and food , renewed enthusiasm and excitement we entered to staff who couldn 't do enough, so professional and warrants praise and a revisit , after a while we left and waited outside for our taxi , looking over we saw the cafe closed , ahhhhh it all came together and understanding that we was an inconvenience to the café as they was closing in half an hour after our visit , How long would it have taken to make a cup of tea for two? , us drink it , then how long would it have taken them to wash up the cups ? , they still would have twenty minutes for the woman to be unglued, our first impressions were of a cafe with many seats and a welcoming atmosphere, the woman employee sitting at the front table working was professional and welcoming the tables were clean and we kept our excitement as we waited , our excitement and enthusiasm faded, we left happily for the woman glued to the floor , we are appreciating the effort of the lady at the table who was seriously let down by the others , thank you for your efforts , apart from her professional customer service skills our Eureka moment to see the café open wasn 't to last , sorry to the staff member at the table I 'm very sure the service we had wouldn 't have been what you would have given , this review seems strong in tone but it 's our experience in here that day.. . I am not now able to show enthusiasm for another visit , I would have loved having that day and opportunity to empty my wallet a little and a little bit more on what would have been another visit , sorry no Eureka moment taken away that day."
