"This is a review based only on take away food and from over take aways, so not a one off. One of the biggest surprises to us was the variation in quality from one week to the next. An example of this is that...a Tandoori mixed grill one week was so good, my partner had it again the next week, second time it was almost covered in a slimy coating and not at all pleasant. This also happened with a lamb Rogan josh, top quality one week, a few weeks later it tasted more like a pudding (more of this later). The quality of the meat, be it chicken, lamb or prawn has been generally absolutely top quality, large tasty pieces of meat, larger pieces than most other takeaways and good quality too. The side dishes have been generally good to. Price wise Holdi is expensive, there is no question about this and when the food is good quality I do not mind paying for it, the inconsistency we have encountered doesn’t warrant these prices to be honest. However, the biggest issue we have with Holdi is sweet curries, so often we have all of us) said this tastes sweet try it yourselves. It’s sweet to a point that it becomes a bit weird and not what you want from a curry. In addition to this have a look at the menu, about times it must say a sweet dish! We have avoided these and still received a sweet dish, the last one a sweet chicken jalfrezi…? Finally, when its around for a takeaway, chuck in a few poppadoms most other restaurants and takeaways do, it is a nice gesture."

"Before Christmas we visited il Mulino and had one the best meals we’ve had in years! After doing some research I realised il Mulino was not the new Fox, I thought they were the same place initially. Realising the Fox was still open we paid...a visit, we’ve not been since it was the previous names place (Fifteens or something like that). What struck me was the fact it was dog friendly so we paid a visit on a Saturday lunchtime. We sat right by a roaring fire all nice and cosy and were looked after by the most delightful team of people, I loved how the manager was visible at all times, greeting people and helping other teams members, this showed a genuine passion for the place. The food was absolutely delicious and we learned the same owners also owned il Mulino! We loved the music and the ambience of the place, we could have stayed all day! The team were just lovely with our dog and made him feel really welcome, we are always really nervous rocking up with a dog but he settled in really well and was given treats and water. Well done to the team and the owners, you will be hugely successful and I hope words gets out what a great place this is. Thank you for a lovely meal and see you soon."

"What an amazing evening to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Popped in last week for lunch, was so good, my hubby booked for this eve. Firstly, the service was beyond exceptional, Lina is an incredible host and a huge asset to the place. Truly a people person. She was super attentive, really went above and beyond, even playing our fav song after a small conversation. (The Script). Thank you Lina. As for the food, wow!! Beautiful and super tasty. Huge portions and worth every penny, infact the prices are low for what you get. Pork belly ribs to die for! Was sceptical about getting them as never they're always small and crispy but theirs, melt in mouth and fell off the bone, bravo chef. Main, chicken chorizo skewers...so much i brought some home Overall, well done to the new owners for employing such wonderful staff. This goes to all of you, thank you for making our anniversary so special. See you Sunday Parking: Loads of spaces."

"Seven of us arrived at 5:30 PM on Tuesday. We placed our orders, and although the restaurant wasn't busy, most of our meals arrived fairly quickly except for one, which I suspect was forgotten. Three of us ordered the salt and pepper chicken, priced at £16.50, which I found to be quite expensive. To say it was disappointing would be an understatement—the rice was so clumped together that we had to slice it apart. The chicken was just okay, and the chips were also average, but for £16.50, I expected much better quality. We were on a tight schedule, or we would have raised our concerns, which we definitely should have done. We won't be coming back any time soon. The meal was pricey and not worth it. What a letdown, especially since this used to be one of my favorite places to eat. On a positive note, there is plenty of parking available."
