"This restaurant is easily accessible by bus/car as well as bike or on foot. It somehow manages to give the feeling of being more remote, due to its scenic location near a lake and being screened from the roadway by trees. There are plenty of inside and outside seats - with the garden seating area looking as though it could fit tens of people on a sunny day.We visited twice during our stay - once for beer and hot pretzels (good!) and once for a meal. Both times staff were pleasant and efficient. The Kostrizer bier was great - very dark and tasty and well worth a try.The menu choice was good and fairly priced. I'd recommend the Kaiserschmarren - which was authentic, a good portion size and was served piping hot and freshly cooked. My husband had the trout - which somehow they had managed to completely de-bone but leave as a whole fish?!It was very good - perfectly cooked, moist and tasty. This is a nice, friendly restaurant in lovely surroundings with plenty of capacity and a good menu."

Beautiful hike to molkenhaus! Enjoyed a well worth lunch of a schnitzel platter with mushrooms and gravy as well as a pea soup with bockwurst. Excellent beer!

This is a very German experience, a restaurant in the middle of the woods and halfway up a mountain. It serves hikers, mountain bikers and people out for a drive. It even has a bus stop. Good German fare.

We found this idyllic little place after our hike in the area. Great spot for a quick drink and snack after hiking for hours. The outdoor seating is very nice. The food served here are traditional German snacks.

"My wife and I tried to get in on a Sunday evening, early, but not a chance. The brush-off was kind of brusk, which is why I am only giving 4 stars. But there is a reason why you need a reservation, the food and service are really good. This time we made reservations for early on a Saturday evening. And, yes, they turned away a lot of people without reservations. We went to the restaurant hungry and could not possibly finish all the food presented. Just full disclosure. More German portions than Greek. We started with tzatziki, just since we had not had fresh fzatziki in a long time, and it did not disappoint. I may never be able to eat pre-made fzatziki again. The bread was really good too, hot and fresh. My wife ordered a broccoli appetizer, which was good, but it is hard to screw up broccoli. I ordered the cream of tomato soup, which was amazing, although the promised cream was not present. I could have stopped at this point. My wife ordered 'three small pork steaks'. They were not small. Not sure what the sides were, she ate them before I had a chance to sample. The chops were not as tender as we have had, but good nonetheless. I ordered the Helena-teller, Giros, ein Suflaki und ein Suzukiyros, I really had no idea what I was ordering, but everything was excellent. Came with tomato rice and fries, both very good. I wish I could have eaten more, but we took the rest home, so there is always tomorrow.Service was prompt and efficient, perhaps a bit understaffed. To my understanding, there are/were only two other Greek restaurants in town, and one has closed or is undergoing renovations, so this is an excellent choice. (We had a good experience at Ambrosia as well, but Platon is not currently in business.) The quantity of food for the price is a great value. Highly recommended. As long as you call ahead for a reservation!"
