"as we wanted to celebrate our high-time day during our holiday, we had inquired about which restaurant is recommended in snowberg, and the “Ratskeller” was called by several locals and to take it forward – right. as the name suggests, it is located in the historic rathaus Snowbergs on the market. the gas rooms are stylishly simple, and at the arched arches you can see that the name “Ratskeller” fits. another plus point is not too tight seating, which means you have at the table “private sphere”. the service was attentive and friendly, but not intrusive. for the food one had to wait a time, which is always a good sign, i.e. it is freshly cooked and not pushed into the microshaft, which one also recognizes that the menu is rich, but not buoyant. meat courts are prominently represented. as we were already in the mountain range, however, we did not tempt ourselves to dishes such as “Schnitzel Venice” or “Mediterranean Schnitzel”, but to feed typical areas. by the way: it is never a mistake to keep looking at the menu according to the heading “specialities of the house” so also here. There are certainly recommended wild specialties from the wild erz mountains such as the cervical (10.90 eur) or cervical steaks with mushrooms (as “Erzgebirgischer Wildschmaus”, 14.50 eur). an absolute recommendation is the Erzgebirgische madbraten (10.90 eur) or “Bergmanns Leibgericht” (kasselersteak with speck and “Knackern”, i.e. Erzgebirgische mettwürsten, 13.60 eur). suitable for the more defigent we have left the weeping card outside and instead of drinking beer or non-alcoholic. the ratskeller does not have in offer, but with star-squell at least a vogtländische aus plauen. by the way, a small discovery on the menu: the tonic water of the Saxon Lichtenau source, from which we bought a whole box the next day. Conclusion: a recommended restaurant without any fashionable chi chi, a good kitchen, reasonable prices and rich portions. a thriving house we would return to at any time."
