"I went here several times last years while visiting my sister. The building is a bit hidden away from the street. Like other reviewers mentioned the atmosphere is more casual.Downstairs they offer large tables for groups and upstairs a bit more usual restaurant like setting. Certainly this is a perfect place for large groups or family with children, because no one will bother about the noises since it is already noisy anyway.I ordered here once pasta, but that was a slight let down since it was not anything special ( my pasta with mushrooms had no fresh mushrooms). But the pizzas are big, thin/crispy and the topping is good. The wine selection is decent too. Since this summer they offer also homemade ice cream, but there are certainly better gelato to find in Essen."

The organizational restaurant is open from Monday to Saturday from 11:30 to 15:00 and from 17:00 to 23:00 and on Sundays and holidays from 11:30 to 23:30. Tuesday's rest day. a table reservation is recommended as it is very well visited. A parking space is sufficient. Location, environment and atmosphere are located in the middle of fields and forests in the dining chain. There is a large outdoor area and many interiors. the owner has decorated the outdoor area with many Bonsai flowers very beautifully. the atmosphere is very pleasant, as the waiter recognizes Japanese courtesy in their service. "pizza paolo is a quite large family restaurant with Italian aromen. these aromes can be seen in every step. the decoration of the spatial features, the atmosphere created by the crew, music and menu, reminds of the trattoria transferred from an Italian small town. The...whole team is very hard to satisfy the customers. wait for the service does not take long. waiter take effective order. the problem can be the lack of an English version of the menu, but the service will just explain everything. "I have known since my childhood and since then the restaurant has not had any quality. the service is friendly and the facility cozy. the kitchen is (if I can judge this) typical Balkan cuisine with very generous portions, always a small salad and brot with crimped butter as an appetizer. the actual appetizers go through elsewhere as a main dish, so large are the portions. Despite all this, the quality has always been true, the meat was tender and never seemed inferior. there is a small critique, however: it is just too crowded at me. "The restaurant is located in City of Essen, directly at a subway station. Formerly, it was a spacy restaurant, but it seems that the service area is reduced now. Anyway, we had no reservation and a choice of several tables. The focus is greek cuisine,...you know gyros, suvlaki, zaziki and so forth. We ordered appetizers, main dishes and desserts. The waitress was very friendly, delivery was very fast. As we ordered asymetric, every course was skipped by one of us, the service was mixed up a bit. Anyway, everything went fine, the meals were good, but the portions were huge, so think about an appetizer. We had salad, gratined gyros, and named' meat plates. All was good and we had to order a doggybag at the end. So this is a great recommendation for hungry people that are not afraid of meat. We will be there next time again."

"Nach mehreren schlechten Erfahrungen mit den beiden Vorpächtern versuchte ich mein Glück aufs neue im Pantheon an der Heisinger Straße. Leider ist das spröde und altbackene Interieur unverändert vorhanden. Der Service ist wenig aufmerksam und freundlich, dem Pächter entsprechend angepasst. Die Speisekarte bietet außer dem üblichen Einerlei einer griechischen Gyrosauswahl auch Gans und Argentinische Steaks... Der Versuch, sich bei einem Griechen an das klassische Gyros zu halten, scheiterte an der dicklichen Fertigsoße, in dem das Fleisch qualvoll ertrank. Die Weinauswahl beschränkt sich auf eine winzige Auswahl typisch scheußlicher griechischer Weine wie Imyglikos, den ich allenfalls als Unkrautvernichter benutzen würde. Da ich vermute, dass es in Griechenland auch brauchbare Weine und einen gewissen Anspruch an Qualität gibt, erschließt sich mir dieses schlechte Weinsortiment nicht. Bei Speisen im eher mittleren Preisbereich hätte man anderes erwarten dürfen. Da bereits die Vorspeise nicht wie bestellt ankam und das gelieferte in Knoblauch ertränkte Brot dann umfunktioniert wurde um zum bestellten Bruschetta mit alles überdeckender Knofinote zu werden (ja auch italienische Speisen bietet der Grieche!), durften wir bei der Hauptspeise ohnehin keine zu großen Erwartungen hegen. Leider zeigt sich in diesem Fall, dass neue Besen nicht automatisch besser fegen!"

"Although the restaurant positions itself way above average Essen restaurant and attracts wealthy Germans, we were very disappointed during our visit in May. The service you'll get will feel like waiters give you huge favor. We had to ask for child seat, although it was...clear that yo baby cannot seat on its own. The waiter could not even put it close to the table and the mother had to ask for help. When the baby was loud, the waiter pretended he could not hear us. We got additional drinks that we did not order. Waiting time for the main course was longer than hours. The various fish dishes that we ordered were all very salty. Risotto is like eating pure salt. When we ask additional bread, waiter brought pieces for people!!! First and last time there."

"Das Tandori Haus liegt an der vielbefahrenen Friedrich-Ebert-Straße und sieht von außen unscheinbar aus. Auch von innen ist es nicht besser, die Einrichtung und die Atmosphäre stammen wohl eher aus den 80er und 90er Jahren. Wir wollten uns schon umdrehen, als uns der sehr freundliche Inhaber ansprach und einen Platz anbot. Wir haben es nicht bereut, geblieben zu sein! Der Inhaber erklärte uns seine Küche und Gerichte. Bei der Auswahl unserer Speisen unterstützte er uns, vor allem hinsichtlich der Gewürze und der Schärfe. Vorspeisen und Hauptgerichte waren ordentlich angerichtet und schmeckten uns wirklich gut. Es waren für uns überwiegend unbekannte Geschmacksaromen. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist wirklich gut. Der Inhaber und seine Tochter(? waren stets sehr aufmerksam, freundlich und höflich. Die Gastfreundschaft und die Freude an der Bewirtung seiner Gäste waren dem Inhaber förmlich anzusehen und zu spüren. Wir haben uns trotz der doch eher bescheidenen Einrichtung jederzeit wohl und gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Die einzige Toilette in diesem Lokal muss man allerdings nicht unbedingt aufsuchen. Bei unserem nächsten Städtetrip nach Essen kommen wir gerne wieder."

"Kennt wohl ein jeder, wenn man tolle Urlaubstage in der Fremde verbracht hat, sich dem Gefühl insbesondere über die dort kennengelernten Speisen, wieder ein wenig zurückzuholen. Umso enttäuschender, wenn dieses bei einem Besuch dieser Lokalität schlicht erlischt. Beginnend bei der Ausstattung, welche auf den ersten Blick harmonisch und auch hochwertig herüberkommt, sich beim genaueren Hinschauen dann als billige Fassade herausstellt, sobald man Platz genommen hat. Die Atmosphäre quirlig, laut störend. So etwas haben weder in Indien noch Sri Lanka kennengelernt. Das poltrige Personal dürfte wohl überwiegend aus Minijobbern oder Familienangehörigen bestehen, denen die Identifikation zur Tätigkeit abhanden gekommen ist oder einfach nicht vorhanden ist. Die von uns bestellten Speisen wurden zum Teil lauwarm serviert, waren überwürzt und mächtig ölig. Wer einmal die indische, srilankische und balinesische Küche in dem jeweiligen Land erfahren durfte, versteht was wir meinen. Bis auf den Preis, ist es im Grunde nichts anderes, als wenn man bei Temu preisgünstige Kopien bestellt. Schier schleierhaft, wo diese hochlobenden Bewertungen herkommen. Wir hätten so da eine Vermutung. Somit können wir dieses Lokal *nicht* empfehlen, freuen uns auf unseren nächsten Urlaub, wo in der dortigen einheimischen Küche weder Geschmacksverstärker noch Convenience oder eine Mikrowelle zum Einsatz kommt sondern echte kulinarische Speisen mit der zugehörenden Gastlichkeit serviert werden."
