"My first time in Rolys. It has been on my list for quite a long time to go there because I have been hearing for years how good the restaurant and food was, so when I was invited to go to a birthday party there with just two other people, I wondered if it would live up to its reputation. The answer is yes. The staff were not only very professional but very friendly and helpful. It was a very busy chilly November Thursday evening but there was a great buzz in the room and the ambience was lovely. Both of my friends had been there before and both agreed there is great consistency with the food. On the night in question, the food was delicious and for me the highlight was their prawn dish. We drank some beautiful wine and couldn't resist their homemade desserts. It was my first time there but won't be my last."

Breakfast here is divine. We ate in the heated conservatory.

Customer service is very bad! Waiters were just standing around talking. Had to ask 2 times for water and wait 20 mins to get the cheque. would suit people who have all day to spare for breakfast! View menu

Pity the corkage charge for the wine bought off the wine list that wasn't mentioned and then found its way onto the bill, strategically placed in the middle the bill. When this was queried the following day, it was explained, but it is disappointing that it was not mentioned when the bottle was ordered. But I suppose it was mentioned somewhere in the small print. They said they were closed (the Terrace area for lunch when I arrived around 3pm on a Saturday, but I saw many customers eating there. Could you explain, please? I might be wrong, so apologies in advance of you were indeed closed and it wasn’t just the waiter being rude. REPLY TO ROLY BELOW: Thank you for confirming. Looking forward to visiting again and trying the food. Upping the review to 5* until I try it again :

Perfect place for a special occasion or celebration. The food is excellent with a wide choice of set or a la carte delights. We had hake and chicken from the set menu, and both were well presented and complimented by seasonal vegetables. More importantly both meals were appreciated as being amongst the best we've experienced. The staff were excellent and attentive, even though we had chosen an evening after a conferment event at a local university meaning that all areas of the restaurant were busy with noisy families. Nevertheless we never felt ignored, and I'm sure that the atmosphere would be less frenetic on a normal night. Perhaps the early evening booked eased this somewhat. I would ret...

"it is all to change again, but thanks to the coffee is ace really top notch, shaded and perfectly roasted. funny enough while we find the rich from latte to macchiato, cappuccino by flat white etc. gibraltar is nowhere to find, not as much as. the customized glass. the personal remains as cheerful as always, despite the fact that their business must be desperate, and their reasonable prices remain the same. it's only here again with another lock-off, but the policy doesn't call it a lock. These people are still paid, they enjoy nominated wage increases (imaginable that they can decide on their own wage increases and who have recently given their support staff (in many cases family members a wage (and associated pension) increase. maya like so many companies have lots of things at a theke near the door to sanitise and here is the thing that the type that makes the coffee I can go, feet stand from him and give him money to pay and take a coffee and change from him. but if he had this machine in his kitchen, I couldn't go for a free coffee in his house. I could work with him all day, but I could not sit for a beer with him in a local bar for half an hour, but we could meet in the local church for an hour service. So look. So they think about how important it is to help small independent, especially in these strange times when the only certain are dead, control and grab money, dishonest politicians."
