"We called in on the way back to our hotel to book a table for that evening at 8pm, having read the good reviews . We arrived as the church clock was striking 8, to find that our table had been given away, much to even the owner's surprise. However, he managed to squeeze us onto another table with two Germans who were just having a drink. The order was taken quite promptly and our drinks arrived soon afterwards and then we sat........and we sat........and we sat. One hour and ten minutes later, after much remonstrating by us and our German table companions on our behalf, our food arrived. I have no recollection as to whether it was good or not, as, by this time, we were so hungry, the worst food in the world would probably have tasted OK and we had already drunk most of the bottle of wine.To our hosts that evening: yes, I know you had two large tables to look after, but you did accept our booking only three hours earlier, so you must have thought you would be able to cope. When you realised that you were not going to be able to cope, maybe some explanation about the delay would have been in order, not to mention that the possibility of bringing us some bread or nuts or olives or even our dinner in less than 70 minutes might have appeased the situation?"

A good experience at this traditional family restaurant in the heart of Boppard. Busy at peak times so best to book. Small bar area.

Two visits in the week, the second to see if the food was just as good as the first. The food was superb, the service excellent, the wine delicious and a fantastic atmosphere. A must visit for traditional and international cuisine.

We had a very good experience with this restaurant. There is a variety of local specialities and wine, which I highly recommend. I had a Ragout with wild pork, really delicious. There are also vegetarian options. Nice atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff.

A small group of us turned up without booking and had no difficulty in getting a table on what was clearly a busy night. The service was excellent and very friendly and the food and beer were top notch! I'm feeling hungry for more just typing this review!! Recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening here.The owner & staff are so friendly,helpful & welcoming.Our meal was delicious, good size servings... full of flavour.The pork steak was served with a fresh herb sauce & melted in your mouth....yum!Suggest that you book a table as it is very popular.Highly recommendedMissy Australia.

Lovely restaurant. We sat outside under the umbrellas. Great staff and everyone enjoyed their meals. Typical German with some other interesting choices as well. We live in Germany and I eat a lot of schnitzel but this one was very good. We sat there playing cards after we ate and they were happy to let us just stay there. Lovely evening.

Travelling back with my son from a business trip in southern Germany we stopped over in Boppard and found the Romerburg. We had a great laugh with the landlord and took his recommendation and enjoyed one of day's "specials" of pork loin steak with a Spanish bean salad and a side order of chanterelle mushrooms delicately fried with garlic and white wine, delicious! The service was fast and attentive and we would definitely go back.
