"Fantastic view over the city and great ambience. You could not complain about the service because there was none. We had to actually get out of our seat after half an hour to step in front of a waiter for our orders to be taken. Then waited almost another hour for the meal to arrive can't understand why the wait, as the food was all overcooked. The roast pork was as dry as the Sahara in drought and my schnitzel was actually burnt to a crisp on the underside and admire their nerve in actually bringing it to the table. This so-called restaurant would not survive if it wasn't for its location. Undoubtably the worst meal we experienced on our recent trip to Europe."

Verry Nice view over Wuerzburg. Service and food could be better.

We keep going back, remembering how good it once was. One day, we will learn.

Service, super slow, although not much operation. Operations ran around, totally unorganized. Waiting for 40 minutes, I got cold white sausage. Shame!

Other reviews are quite accurate poor food, slow service but great views not of the city but of Sanderau. I definitely recommend coming here for a drink, but that is about all.

We didn't drive here cuz we wanted to drink. The way up here on foot is very tiring but great view small alleys. The first thing about this place is the view, so basically you pay for the view, food is alright and drinks too. German. The tables are very dirty so is the menu.

on the mountain above the rooftops of the Wurzburg restaurant with magnificent beer garden and a unique view over the city. but also the dining room looks secret and you feel there. the kitchen is located Franconian regionally and offers the guests numerous delicious dishes for cheap excursions. to be sure to get a place should be booked for reasons of clarity!

I am 75 years old. And I am born in this beautiful town Würzburg. Der Schützenhof is just the most breathtaking, extraordinary place to be. This place has been in the hands of the family since I could think of. Therefore, join this place, relax under the big and shady trees, breath fresh air, try the many different wines, the absolutely fresh and international food. And my suggestion: walk up your way to this smashing setting. Love and peace to all!!

I ate at Schutzenhof last night with a group of 8 business associates. We had a table outside, under the chestnut trees, overlooking the beautiful medieval town of Wurzburg, in the Franconia part of Bavaria. The food was outstanding as was the service. Many local specialties, food, wine and beer, are available. The pork loin in mushroom sauce with a side of spatzle was very good, as was the locally made Franconian dark beer. For such a large group, service was quick and helpful. This was a very good dining experience.

Würzburg, known for its baroque architecture and vineyards, offers traditional Franconian dishes like bratwurst and sauerkraut, and is renowned for wine, especially Silvaner.
