"We were here on a Friday evening for dinner. The location is perhaps not so easy to reach, as it is located on the shore of the Brienzersee. Because of the limited space, caused by the delimitations of the lake, parking might not be sufficient....I would therefore advise to park in the town of Ringgenberg and then to walk down to the shore minute walk). The parking might be a negative aspect, but given the position and the limited space of land available it is justified. There is like a terrace outside, which is separated from the restaurant by a road (no worries, there is little noise as few cars pass by) and an internal dining area. We were seated outside and the chairs offered were moderately comfortable. The first impression one receives is certainly a good one, as all waiters are dressed elegantly and the tables are covered with a cloth. However, this changes completely when one receives the menu: it is made out of plane paper. No cover front and back. Just plain, printed paper, which hints a low quality and poor experience. Do not be fooled by this! I am not sure why they present it that way, but the quality of the food will not disappoint you. The waiter serving us was very friendly and open to discussion as we managed to exchange thoughts on a few matters. However, we noticed that there were only two waiters working, which given the busy evening might seem odd. We, however, did not experience any type of delay in accepting orders. The menu is quite complete with an offer of salads, appetizers, meat-based dishes, fish-based dishes and the vegetarian dishes. I ended up ordering the salad plate with the shrimp. Even though there were only pieces of shrimp (plus the salad on the side) the dish actually did manage to fill me up and satisfy my appetite (no idea how that happened). Here is what was not satisfied: my pain receptors in my brain when I had to pull out CHF for some salad and pieces of shrimp. Even for Switzerland this seems a little pricey, however given the touristic location it was to be expected. You also have to keep in mind that the plate was very nicely presented, with aligned shrimp and a piece of lemon on the top. If you are searching for a place to dine by the waters, this might be for you, admitted that you have a certain amount of money in your pocket!"

Perfect summer destination. We loved that we could jump right into the water to cool off. The gardens are also nice to chill out. Friendly service as well. I did some open water swimming along the coastline, easy to manage and not many obstacles (boats) in the way.

We went for dinner after reservation, it took half an hr to sereve starter and 1.5h to serve the main! The restaurant is nice by the lake but was quite noisy by dinner time because of some guests. Ambiance (3/5), Starter (3/5), Main (3/5), Dessert (4/5), wine (2/5),service (3/5). In general, dinner is overpriced regarding quality of food and service.

View menu

Hotel direkt am Brienzersee mit Schiffanlegestelle. Parkplätze für Hotelgäste vorhanden. Älteres Hotel mit Charme und teils renoviert. Zimmer schön mit Blick auf den See. Alles sehr ruhig. Badezimmer mit WC in unserem Zimmer eher klein. Morgenessen reichlich und frisch. Abendessen à la Carte war fein. Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir halten das Hotel in bester Erinnerung.

it was unimaginable. we wandered in the opposite with jolts. all seats were completely empty and the staff told us that all seats are reserved. even though nobody was there. we checked the website and the menu online. it looked...for us at first sight. After a trip we thought that we could get a nice meal here, as the website does not mention that it is exclusively for hotel guests only we were very disappointed about the attitude of personal management they let us feel. try to use this hypocrite restaurant, as it only wanders for hotel customers and not other visitors around the lake. never again, hope to save some other of this place.
