"We have been going to The Old Moat garden centre over the years and have seen it grown into the lovely little business it is now. We visited in September for a fun dog in the walled garden. It was well attended, well run and lots of fun, out favorite event was the rescues dog class, hearing their stories and seeing how happy the dogs are in their new homes was a joy. After the show we had a wander round the gift shop which whilst small holds a wealth of treasures. The garden part of the centre is well laid out and the plants are all healthy and in my opinion a good price. Before you leave pop to the cafe for a bite to eat, the staff are always welcoming, the place is clean and I can highly recommend their cake and to cap it all it is dog friendly. A garden centre which is large enough to have all you need but still small enough to have that non commercial feel."

Much improved of late with extended cafe modest menu but good snacks and drinks. Run by Rainbow Trust equal employment charity for those with learning difficulties. Small but useful garden centre.

This is a small garden with a limited choice and I thought prices were slightly higher than some of the larger organisations, It . Serves a purpose for the local community bit not worth a special journey. Better garden centre within a nearby radius.

Lovely place to visit for lunch. Nice selection and very reasonable prices. Tables are a bit close together with everyone sitting in long lines but we were there when it was busy and had to squeeze onto last available table. It's popularity says it all.

This is my local garden centre. I came here yesterday lunchtime in order to look at the plants and order some nice cake too. I sipped some elderflower water as well. I love it here. You can spend up to two hours here looking at the things on sale and eating.

I have always visited this place in support of their initiative. However despite supporting mental health their approach to deaf customers and customers with mobility issues were ill thought through. Very unpleasant experience of ordering but unable to lipreading staff in full mask. No offer of pen paper. So stressful we left and went to Luna cafe instead. What a gem of a find Luna cafe was.

We very much like walking to the Old Moat for coffee/toastie/cake especially as dogs are welcome inside and outside the cafe; we wish more cafes would allow dogs because it surely increases people enjoying spending money and time in these dog friendly cafes. Also good for plants, greeting cards, compost and many more garden items. in the evening they also run entertainment nights. Worth going and once again enjoy a toastier and drinks.

Went in for a browse, to find a special Christmas card and to support a local, charitable business. Whilst looking at the cards, the staff having a conversation and cup of tea in the office obviously found my presence distracting and invasive. They shut the door and told me to ring the bell when I was ready. I couldn't believe how rude that was! I was made to feel quite uncomfortable. Total lack of customer service. I decided to put the items I was going to purchase back and left. I won't be going back.
