Great service, fun friendly staff. Coronation chicken wrap and ships were excellent. Beetroot humous needed more flavour. Scotch egg was good. Tried the Maldon wine, decent. Good prices.

Nice afternoon tea for mothers day. Many cakes/sandwiches, unlimited tea and coffee. Mother and mother in law loved the experience. Fantastic friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble.

Had a set meal which was very good. It was a Tina Turner tribute artist, what she lacked in likeness, she more than made up for as a great and energetic, entertainer. All in all a great night.

Came back after enjoying a few drinks there last week. Service was really disappointing tonight. We had to chase everything we ordered and then had to chase the bill. If I was that way inclined I could have quite easily walked out without paying. Not sure we will be going back for a while

This place was the perfect way to experience English culture! We went around the south and just had to come in! The scones and tea were delicious as well as the various burgers and chicken dishes they had! In any case, you have no complaints about the service here! It was beautiful and perfect! Love the staff!

I've been here for a while and I can't blame the place. It is classic, the staff is great and the service is also good with these encoding restrictions. Actually, the one disorder I can apply (because nothing is perfect) is the 10 cramps you get if you have a bowl of cramps at £ 1.50...Other than this miniscule edition I would definitely recommend the place for drinks at least... can not comment on cooked food as I did not eat here.

Hard to find a restaurant in Southend with a tablecloth, when we saw the website, we assumed the ballroom was the restaurant when events were not being staged. We should’ve checked. The restaurant is actually the bar, which on a Saturday evening is still full of day trippers and shoppers, that’s fine but it was our anniversary…again our fault for not checking. The service was average, the food was OK, the 80/90’s reggae was a little odd. The fumes from vapers on the balcony was unwelcome.

To the night of the comedy last night and it was great! The staff was really nice both on the upper and on the ground floor, the venue has a beautiful boutique vibe, which I know would enjoy another evening with a few cocktails. The food was also nice, we had a somewhat limited menu, as we were up for the event that also restricts their bar menu, it wasn't a problem, but we found ourselves getting drinks from below and they up, that was no problem for us or the staff helping to bring up drinks. Overall, great experience, would do it again and recommend a friend.

The hotel was clean. I requested our bed sheets be changed on arrival. They weren't dirty as in not been washed they were but there was an imprint of a boot on the sheet. Any way they were changed immediately. Just unfortunate they should never have been fitted. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was good and reasonably priced. We payed what I considered to be a small amount extra for a sea view and it was well worth it with exceptional view of the estuary. Though hotel staff need to go out and clean the balconies to the same standard as the rest the hotel
