"Our recent experience at the Royal Oak was excellent. We were staying at the nearby Ibis hotel and were in search of a dog-friendly pub for dinner. We were informed that we could still dine in the Public Bar despite the main restaurant being closed. Upon arriving on the evening of Friday, November 3rd, we were greeted by the friendly staff and locals. Despite the busy atmosphere, we were able to quickly secure a table. Both of us ordered the Gammon Steak with Egg and Chips, a classic pub dish that was elevated to a new level at the Royal Oak. The 10oz steak was thick, juicy, and cooked to perfection, served with double-cooked thick-cut chips and a perfectly fried egg. The portions were generous and piping hot. The pub offers a good selection of real ales, as well as keg beers and bottled options. We had a wonderful evening in the cozy, traditional pub and would highly recommend the Royal Oak to others. While some nearby pubs have closed, the Royal Oak certainly deserves its continued success. A big thank you to the staff, chef, and locals for providing us and our dog with a memorable evening all the way from Manchester."

I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. The carvery was delicious and despite being really busy, the staff took good care of us. The price per person was between £10–20. I would rate the food a 5, the service a 4, and the atmosphere a 4.

The service at this restaurant is top-notch (10/10) and the food is absolutely delicious. Prices range from £10 to £20 per person. The atmosphere is great, and there is plenty of parking available. Highly recommended dishes include the Fish and Chips with Mushy Gravy.

We had an amazing dinner last night with eight family and friends, everyone enjoyed their meals. The mixed grill was huge and came with delicious chips. The portion could have been smaller though, as I had to take some chips home in a doggy bag. Thank you to everyone at the Royal Oak for a wonderful dining experience.

We treated our mother to a meal for her 90th birthday on Friday. The food was exceptional - freshly prepared, well-cooked, and absolutely delicious! The staff were incredibly friendly and even surprised my mum with a complimentary Baileys for her special day. The value was outstanding - we ordered 5 starters, 7 mains, and 4 desserts, all for less than £100. This was more than 50% less expensive than other restaurants in the same area. Definitely worth a visit!

I used to frequent the Royal Oak for years and was disappointed when they unfortunately closed. However, it is now under new management and the food is delicious. We decided to try it out on a Sunday and the meat was mouthwatering, with fantastic portion sizes. The flavors were sweet and fresh. The chef even personally checked in to make sure everything was to our liking. Overall, a fantastic dining experience! It's great to see the refreshing changes that have been made under the new management.
