"This restaurant is an expensive hobby, the best part of £300 for two with wine and service. I do sometimes wonder if we are paying to be there to please the chef or the chef is there to please us judging from the rules we should observe on the website. Luckily gone are the days of only taking cash, which sometimes necessitated a visit to the cash point at the end of the evening. However I digress, cards are obviously accepted now. The room is stark and soulless, more canteen than high end restaurant. On leaving, the feeling is more endurance rather than warmth, joy and money well spent. There is one menu, no choice, start time 7.00 p.m., arrive 6.45 p.m. be there or be square! Every one served the same course at the same time. To be honest I am not a massive fan of just warm food, which happens if your table is not first out of the kitchen. For me the big sin, no bread …….. Surely a restaurant like this should be able to present some sort of warm interesting bread. To be honest even just normal French bread would have been nice. Two amuse bouche were good and nicely presented as were the hake, and gilt edged bream dishes. The monkfish, a meaty fish, was rather tough with a green ravioli and green sauce which wasn’t for me. Perhaps a cerviche or grilled langustine as one of the courses would be a suggestion and also a change of texture. There were three puddings all very nice but perhaps a cheese course and two puddings may be preferable. To b honest, not a very relaxing experience!"

"Visited during a quiet lunchtime. Was attracted by the great range of gluten free items on the menu either as an gluten free option or just a gluten free item.GLUTEN INTOLERANT AND COELIACS BE CAREFUL AS ITEMS LISTED AS GF MAY NOT BE GF AND YOU WILL HAVE TO CHECKOrdered 2 drinks, 1 spiced corn nibbles, 2 starters and 2 mainsAfter a few minutes we were told the drinks we ordered were not available and so we switched our order. The one starter arrived, then 2 drinks, then the nibbles, then a few minutes later everything else all at once. Plates precariously balanced on edges of tables etc… no real consideration or helpNow the good is that the gluten free bases were really good, nice texture and enjoyable part of the mealGenerally each item was a little disappointing. Very few ingredients on the pizzas small circles of vegan cheese and a few bits of veg on top of a large base. The “Honey,I want the one with pepperoni” had a thick layer of tomato sauce that felt uncocked and really ruined the pizza to the pint that we left 2/3 of it (which wasn’t queried at the end)The cheesy garlic pizza bread was also a sad sight with about 6 circles of cheese and a slice garlic glove spread out over a large base. This is also an item listed as GF (not as a item with a GF option just GF) and turns out it isn’t and we had to pay extra to get a gluten free base on an item that was meant to be GF. When questioning at time of ordering that the menu said it was GF we were just told that everything you have to pick the base, trying to point out how it is listed on the menu it was denied that was the case. When the bill came and I question why we had to pay extra for that item to be GF when it was listed as GF we were told they would tell a manager but didn’t adjust the bill. The bill was £65 including a tip and was throughly disappointing and not anywhere near value for moneyI have eaten many vegan meals and this by far was one of the poorer ones. It wouldn’t cost a lot to cut up a few extra vegetables to make the pizzas nicer or just serve smaller pizzas so that the ingredients fill more of it."
