Rustic but authentic. Very tasty and not expensive : The mouthbags were very delicious!

Stopped in for a lovely lunch on a rainy day. I was the only non-local in the cozy dinning room. The service was superb and the menu was traditional Swaibian which was well done and very tasty. The beer on tap hit the spot as did the apple dessert. I recommend if you are near the Market.

Whenever I come back to this town I go there to have dinner as they still do the old swaibian cooking very basic but good quality and fresh. I prefer either Rostbraten or Schnitzel with homemade Kartoffelsalat. they also offer own local vine I recommand Alte Rebe. A good local place to stay. View menu

If I go back to what is the original Swabian, and this is not rare, then the Zaiß winery is a must! Sometimes there's food I only know about my mother, that's Swabian pure culture. Ambience is from day before, but maybe it makes so authentic, lunch table is also affordable, every day two dishes, Friday fish as it belongs...

In Bad Cannstatt, unlike earlier, there are no more good wine bars. The higher you have to evaluate the Zaiß winery, which still really radiates Swabian cosiness. The kitchen offers real, good home cooking at affordable prices. The wine from its own cultivation is good and pleasant. In short: A traditional wine bar where the owner is still in the kitchen.
