"About twice a year I meet with three former employees or to be precise with one employee and two employees to a cozy drink. Since we knew that a change had taken place at the Zum Urigen restaurant, we simply wanted to try out how it is under new direction. Last time we were here. The host had retired after decades and handed over to a young couple of Asian origins. The hostess said it, but I'm not sure anymore, but I think they come from Thailand. But you need to know that the host has been living in Germany for 29 years and to be working as a cook in a restaurant in Göppingen. We had ordered a table, which was certainly recommended. Our beverage requests were met quickly. The reading of the menu did not show any Asian influence, but rather was rather Swabian. We three men chose Bratkartoffel with Sülze Euro 8,10. The lady chose lenses with late zle and string sausage, the price also in this region. All four were very satisfied, the roast potatoes were very finely carved. Late and lentils like Swabian good. After we had eaten, the inn has set itself to us some time, the same we had observed at other tables. We had a very excited conversation with her telling us that her husband is responsible for the kitchen and her for the service. She was cooked for decades in a restaurant in Göppingen and learned the Swabian cuisine perfectly. She was clearly familiar with it and mentioned that she cooks unfamiliarly asian. I can say inconveniently, the place is highly recommended also under new direction. Parallel to the Stuttgarter Strasse, there is a street where you can easily get a parking space."

Ludwigsburg is known for its Baroque architecture and the grand Ludwigsburg Palace. Typical dishes include Spätzle and Maultaschen, reflecting traditional Swabian cuisine.
