Zur Letzten Instanz

Es war ein sehr schöner Abend und unsere ausländischen Gäste haben die Atmosphäre und das sehr gute deutsche Essen sehr genossen - genauso wie wir. Man muss unbedingt vorher reservieren. Das Personal war sehr nett und zuvorkommend, wir werden gerne zurückkommen.

We found this place when we got lost walking around Alexanderplatz and decided to stay for a beer, and that's the story of how we fell in love with Berliner! The stuff is very friendly. We were sitting outside, just by the street, but it was quiet. I also like the inside, with old wooden bar.

We got a table at the peak hour in a packed evening even without reservation. The staff was very helpful and polite, and we had to wait around 4 min while one of the tables was paying and we could take their place. Very attractive and cosy place. A rustic place, a little hidden but it is definitely worth visiting this restaurant and also several times. The service is top-class, witty and competent and who likes to reinterpret Berlin specialties, with first-class and high-quality ingredients that find the right one here. The prices are absolutely reasonable and the portions allow a dessert. So we're coming back.

we were a bit comprehending at this place after we had read the racism incidents. nothing of this kind when we arrived. we were greeted at the door without reservation. we said they can push us if we can blow up within an hour. if there is racism, we will only say that we are going. some natives came after us and were turned away. pork ankle and seafood soup were heavenly. the service level worsened somewhat after a huge group arrived with reservation and the whole staff was stabbed. I don't think they're rude, just too busy. we call one thanks to the man who greeted us at our arrival and although he was very busy he could turn around and say goodbye to us. best meal we had in Germany.

Aquí se viene a comer codillo asado y desde luego es una especialidad. Las albóndigas tampoco están nada mal, muy abundante el plato. Irrisorio, sin embargo, es el plato de trocitos de salchicha de cordero por el que cobran 12 euros. Y no hay mucho más. Aquí se viene a lo del codillo. Parece ser que la mayoría del local está muy bien decorado. No lo sabemos bien. A pesar de reservar nos dieron para 4 una mesa de 2 en la puerta del WC del piso de arriba. Al menos nos trataron con corrección (es el techo aquí en en hostelería, la amabilidad debe ser mal vista) e incluso agradecieron la propina que les dimos. While we’re talking German restaurants (see last post this is one that instantly comes to mind. As the oldest restaurant of the city (since 1621 it’s definitely worth a visit and since we had American visitors, I thought this would be a nice “tourist attraction”. In the summer their small outside area beergarden is a lovely setting for an afterwork get together. They also have a lunch menu which makes it a great place to visit at any time during the day. Their name and menu items are all court themed as in the old days this restaurant was neighbouring the court house. Today all their dishes have names like “Testimony”, “Evidence”, and so on. Tastefully the food is quite ok, but inexpensively ne absolute naughty. Portion sizes ridiculous for the price. Con motivo de nuestras vacaciones en Berlín, anime a mi novio a que fuésemos a comer a este local, ya que el pasado año en vacaciones, estuvimos en la casa de huéspedes más antigua de Alemania. No se pueden comparar. Cuando entras a Zur letzten instanz, te recibe una camarera borde y maleducada. Nosotros habíamos reservado mesa. Nos alegramos de que el local respondiese a lo que buscábamos, una decoración magnifica. Pedimos codillo para compartir, unas patatas, y dos zumos de manzana. La comida estaba muy buena.
