"On a day trip to Littlehampton we stopped here for lunch. I'd seen the overall rating was good and but when we arrived it was a little disappointing. We went into the members bar without realising but they explained we needed to be in the next room and that at first felt like walking into a closed function room with a family sorting a table. Things changed totally from there where we were greeted warmly and sat at a table by the window. We were the only people in the restaurant which worried me a bit. I had no need to worry though, service was amazing, friendly but didn't hover so although we were the only ones there it didn't really feel like the spotlight was on us and the food was absolutely excellent. The children had standard nuggets/ fish fingers and chips. It didn't come out boiling hot which I liked as the children could tuck in right away. Us two adults had steak and ale pie and chips and the Cajun salad. One melon starter too. We had requested all that to arrive at the same time as we had already ordered the children's food before ordering anything else and the melon was to be their dessert. The steak and ale pie was one of the best we've tasted and so fresh with a really generous filling and beautiful pastry. The salad, fresh again and with a lovely dressing. The melon was great and all dishes were well presented. Nothing was too much trouble and they made the children feel very welcome. Prices are reasonable and I'll definitely go back."

"We arrived bank holiday Monday at 13.10. There were some free tables outside (dirty) and it was clear that the staff had had a very busy morning. The outside area was really pretty and I really liked the feel of the space. There were dog water bowls and a box of dog treats and all the guests seemed to be very happy. We sat down before going inside to ask for a menu. I was instructed that they were not serving lunch only breakfast. Fair enough. I ordered inside a few minutes later. This was slightly painful with a member of staff calling out for a colleague to assist him as he was busy. Again, fair enough. After sitting back down, the same member of staff came over a few minutes later to tell me that they were no longer serving food. I commented that he had just charged me £29 for food. I was slightly baffled as he hadn’t told me this a few minutes before. He apologised to me and asked me if I had paid to which I replied yes. He then moved over to another table and told them that they were out of key ingredients for food and so couldn’t serve them. I appreciate it must’ve been a busier day than anticipated so they were running out of food perhaps? More people sat themselves down outside. Got menus. Got comfortable. Went inside to order and then were disappointed to be told that the venue was not serving food after 13.30. I would have personally liked to see a member of staff approaching these potential customers rather than allowing them sit and settle. It also baffled me that a venue that regularly serves lunch and is open some evenings would close on a potentially busy bank holiday with lots of foot fall. But I’m sure they have their valid reasons. However, I believe we saw at least 5 groups be turned away in 30 minutes. It was especially awkward when said groups would stare at us and another table eating! Our food arrived. In fairness it was delicious. We both ordered the full breakfasts. The sausages and bacon were great quality and the toasted sourdough was incredible. The beans could have used a little less time in the microwave or some water as they were dried out but no complaints. I was very impressed. No napkins were put down with the food so we had to go inside to ask for these but I believe the staff were getting ready to close. By the end of our experience there was only one table left inside. After they had left and our plates had been cleared I heard the front door slam and looked up to see it closed. I couldn’t help but giggle at this not to subtle sign of closure which did kind of sum up my experience. Overall the food was very tasty and the feel of the restaurant is lovely but I did feel slightly uncomfortable. This would not stop me from visiting again if I was ever in the area."

"the first impressions of the black horse binsted were all positiw, the pub had a beautiful environment as it was in the landscape with a beautiful view of the golf course while eating in the garden room or outside, especially with the sunset we...hadow the lookout is stunning. the pub had a nice, cozy feeling, with good color schemes and decor. the pub also had very clean facilities that are very pleasant and they trust and feel safe with their 5-star food hygiene certificate. the staff were very friendly and friendly as soon as we entered the door, they were ready to help and answer all the questions we had. the customer service on the black horse was attentive as they ensured that everything was in order, watched us all the time there and even went beyond our expectations, as they put a candle in the desert as it had my friends birthday the next day! the personal had strong product knowledge, as they had always responded to ask that we had asked whether it was about the menu, ingredients, drinks or something else. the eating experience was very pleasant, the pub had a nice atmosphere, eating came to suitable times, so they have time to let their food go between the curses. the food was also presented to a very attentive and appetizing wise. the quality of food was also amazing, each dish had a lot of taste and they could easily say that the ingredients used were very good quality and that they were produced on site. they also had a wide menu of diners and drinks with many meals and drinks. the pub is dog-friendly and it is suitable for all age groups as they also have a children's menu!. the black horse surpassed my expectations, everything was done on a beautiful way, and they went well over what I expected to say nothing bad about the pub at all! I would recommend the pub my friends and family in spite of that they always have a lot to offer and great options!"
