"For our last night on holiday we decided to treat ourselves and eat out. le P'tit Crabe seemed nice with a good seafood menu. There was a reasonable choice and something to please everybody although their meat menu was a little expensive and limited. We were seated and our drinks were served quickly. I ordered a menu and my starter (cold) was served very quickly. We waited a really long time to be served. It was a Friday night but the restaurant was not full and people who'd arrived after us were served before us. Eventually the waitress said 'sorry it's coming' as we must have been looking at her balefully. Then a little while later, she brought 3 out of 4 dishes. My youngest son had to wait even longer for his mussels. My eldest son had a piece of beef which was good but small. It was accompanied by a small square of potatoes gratin and a circle of ratatouille, was was my cod with crumble. The ratatouille was cold and pretty disgusting. The potato serving was really small. My cod was a good piece of fish but the crumble seemed too hard. The sauce was excellent and homemade, as was the mayonnaise for my dh's seafood platter (which was the only generous thing on the table). There were not so many chips, although they were very nice and the mussel portion was not that generous. Even a young boy thought the portion was too small! The desserts of creme brulee praliné and chocolate mousse were acceptable in size and tasted good, but nothing exceptional. Apart from the serious service problem and lack of apology, I think this restaurant is trying to be nouvelle cuisine but is just using this as an excuse to present tiny portions. The potatoes were not haute cuisine, and the ratatouille was awful. If we hadn't had the dessert, we would have left hungry."
