"Having got the no51 bus from Cherbourg marina on a previous trip which leaves at BST 0900 (2.5 euros from the bus station at La Gare),we had an early beverage there and were fortunately first in the queue for moules frites. Because people really queue to get in. This time we caught the 12 at 1130 BST, express, still 2.5 euros, but were TOO LATE.The queue was ginormous. These were French people. Barfleur is very, very pretty. The buses are heavily subsidised and the 51 goes along the coast, whereas the express keeps to the industrialised areas,but is faster. There are other options to eat in Barfleur, we had a stonking Sandwich Jambon et Buerre from La Phare, La Maree was good for a glass of wine,I shouldn't be telling you this because I want to keep Barfleur a secret. You even have screaming swifts in the main street, and a mad taxidermist. ACE!"
