"Walked off mid drink order without saying anything and didn’t return for 10 minutes Table cloths were dirty with previous stains and the dish the popadom sauces were served on had not been washed and was covered in stains and old food. The Cobra had...floating bits and white powder in from dirty beer lines. After complaining there was no apology or follow up or replacement and when we complained about this at the end of the night the server argued and raised his voice blaming it on the suppliers of the beer, however that didn’t excuse that awful customer service that he refused to acknowledge (the table was mortified by the raised voice and argumentative behaviour despite running up a nearly £200 bill). We couldn’t finish our constructive criticism due to being interrupted several times by the in denial manager. Silent waiter starting clearing food we hadn’t finished and clearing people’s plates away while still eating. Didn’t offer drinks or desserts Handed a young child who was with us an exceptionally hot towel which burnt her hands. When we first sat down we didn’t get offered popadoms and when the waiter eventually brought menus over they were thrown over to the table (all 7 of us were mortified). Considering half of the table lives 2 doors down we really wanted to like the restaurant to revisit regularly. We will never be returning to the “local Indian” and will be travelling to the further one in the future. This was the WORST experience I have ever had in a restaurant and this review doesn’t do how TERRIBLE the service was enough justice. Avoid at all costs or enter at your own risk."

"We booked a table on Father’s Day for 13, a large booking and a busy day, I very much appreciate that. We were separated on to two tables next to each other in an L-shape, which was fine but quite squashed. After sitting down for...around 20-30 minutes we asked if would order a drink (the earlier members of our party did have theirs). Then we asked if we could see a menu and after another long wait they got round to taking our orders. Our booking was for 3pm and we didn’t get our starters until 4.50pm! When we asked when they were coming, the children were extremely hungry and unsettled by this point, we were told a few minutes,no apology. After the starter, my 86 year old nan had to leave she had had enough of waiting, it was too noisy in there for her (the music was so loud we couldn’t hear each other speak across the tables) and it was claustrophobic for her with the squashed in tables. We waited a while longer for our main and the food was mainly all great. My paella was delicious but the nachos were lacking in cheese for my taste! Instead of ordering dessert, we had all had enough of waiting around, we paid up and had dessert at home. I think the experience could have been improved if there was more communication or apology from the staff. There wasn’t any ‘sorry you have waited so long’ or ‘sorry for the delay’. In fact when we asked how long it was going to be the response was quite abrupt. They are clearly overworked and definitely need more staff on these busier days. I think it would be fine for a date night or dinner with friends when you can enjoy the lively atmosphere but for a family meal, definitely not and we will never be returning."
