"Went into this little cafe in Burnley and it was heaving. They had lots of staff on to deal with the half term rush and we were able to get a table quickly. The choice of food is great jackets, salad, toasties and sandwiches plus a huge range of savoury and sweet crepes waffles. They also have a smaller kids menu with healthy options, vegan and organic alternatives. I have given the cafe 5* because it delivers excellent choice, well presented and great tasting food. Something different to the normal chain coffee shops. Customer service was also good. I should point out it is a cafe and you have to order your food from the counter, please don’t go expecting restaurant service. It’s not the cheapest eatery in town lunch for 4 people cost us £60. However, we did have two rounds of drinks including milkshakes smoothies which are never cheap. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will be going back."

"Me and my family decided to give beijing a visit onSunday, as we entered, the restaurant looked busy. we were denied a table at first, we didn't understand why, but the manager explained there were tables booked on the empty tables we saw. but there is an availability in an hour so we were booked to come back an hour later. When we came back an hour later the whole restaurant was full, it was a lot more busier than when we first walked in, thank god we booked when we did. We opted in for the all you can eat menu, unlimited amount of the salt and pepper and starters, sounded amazing. We each ordered a soup first, then it was just salt and peppers round after round, in my opinion beijing has the best salt and pepper starters in the country, we tried many places (takeaway/restaurant) but no one comes close to Beijing's salt and pepper, they managed to balance their blend perfectly. After the unlimited amount of starters we made sure to save ourselves some room for their main, we could only manage a main each and 2 sides between the 4 of us but that was enough because we didn't want to waste any food. Their sweet and sour, chicken chilli and garlic, and green pepper and blackbean sauce were all served on a sizzling plate, that itself deserves some credit!! the delicious smell of the food fill the restaurant before arriving at our table. Overall we had a very good experience, we were glad we booked in for later as we understood why the restaurant was so busy, if you look at it from the outside, even till the moment we sat down, the restaurant seemed a little rundown, but don't let that deter you because you'll be missing out on the amazing flavours this restaurant has to offer. yeah the service is mediocre, the decoration need an update, BUT the food, the flavour!! shadows everything, if you are someone who want good food then this is the place."

"Where do is start with the restaurant... Firstly the food was limited we had to wait 10/15 minutes for rice to be cooked, ban bread to be cooked, the salad was stale and not fresh, the chicken jalfrezi looked old and all mashed, the jelly was not set at all. Secondly the service, the drinks came after 10 minutes of us being there. The mango lassi was so watery and no hint of mango in it. They had no sprite, 7up or diet coke. Thirdly the bill, the staff was so argumentative about the age of our children. I have given birth to my children and know how old they are, they may appear older physically however the staff member became defensive and said they do not look their age. I found this very saddening that for couple of pounds the male staff member wanted to argue with me in front of my young children who he could see was getting clearly distressed. I offered him to pay full however he had the decency to say that you have done this before. Accusing me of being untruthful about my children’s age and visiting the restaurant before. Then he had the nerves to ask my children in front of me ‘you have visited here before’ which my children stated no its our first time. This is how unprofessional the staff and illmannerd they are as they asked my children when me as a parent confirmed that i have not visited the restaurant before... I am still upset, angry and hurt by the staff members allegations of being untruthful. I will never visit this restaurant, please stay away from this place."

"We went as a family for a late lunch one weekend. Long queue to order from not very welcoming staff. Eggs on veggie breakfast came almost raw (despite having asked for them burning to a crisp sent back and grateful to be offered a whole...new meal but when it arrived it was the meat version of my original veggie order. Kids sides never came either. Only order they got right was a toasted tea cake! We gave this place 3/5 as they gave up and offered a full refund without my asking."

"vegetarian hidden gem, big caffe. see this pop-up on happy cow, pleased as it is in my hometown, that is now a vegan caffe and a vegetarian caffe that have opened in burnley in the same month! I never went to the red triangle, but it is where the former vegetarian caffeine was. it is a “link and they miss it”. we went past a few times before we found it. aptly named ‘a sixty’ and located on 160 st James’ street. great central location. they have a normal menu and a special board. everything on the menu was either vegan or vegan beside the halloumi burger, everything on the special board could be vegan and from the display cabinet was nothing vegan except the bananenbrot. I would say it would be great to offer vegan cakes as well as vegetarian! we ordered a latte and a shallow white, they do both hafer and soy milk for vegans. my man (omnivore) and I both ordered everything completely vegan and loved our food! Between us we had mac and cheese that came with black pudding and was delicious and garlicky and the specialties; thai burger (yellow and spicy, delicious) sweet potato wedge (perfect cooked with great taste,) pfancake and banan the best! the bananas were caramelized and so tasteful. you could have had blueberries instead. can't wait to have it back. a couple of bananenbrot took home, was again beautiful. for everything, plus another flat white it was £25.10 very reasonable! inside there is a wood burner that creates a cozy feeling. there are 5 tables where you sit. beautiful atmosphere with music in the background. the personal was friendly. they plan to make future art events! 2 unisex toilets are located above. I suppose it's dog friendly as there's a lovely 6 weeks old patterdale welpe in with a family when we were there."

"Went to this restaurant on a recommendation from a friend and very glad we went. Hubby had the fish pie and I had the smoked salmon pasta, cooked to perfection and dessert was strawberries with cream and apple crumble followed by two lattes.Excellent service throughout,...nice atmosphere especially being able to see the swimmers do their stuff in the pool. Extensive menu including a Christmas offering. Would recommend, trying Wilfred's next should be just as good."

"Visited for a birthday dinner, turns out to be the worst birthday ever with terrible food and service. Arrived on time and had to wait half an hour just for the staff down, and they the plates to our table which were dirty, and then proceeded to clean them in front of us with a cloth. And yet when we gave them back and asked for clean plates, they pretended to clean them and give us new ones, but instead gave us the same dirty plates. The glasses were then brought out and again were dirty, one guest even received a glass with a lipstick stain from a previous customer already on it! Then it was time for the food. Absurdly, the starters arrived at the same time as the main course. This was confusing to all of us on what to eat first, as starters as supposed to come before the mains. Then we began eating, and the meat was old overcooked and did not taste fresh. THEN, one of us found a BIG PLASTIC PIECE in a lamb shank. To top it all off, the guest kept eating and found ANOTHER even bigger piece of plastic in the food. The naan bread holders was also all dusty and dirty, this place had no hygiene at all. We were all DISGUSTED and lost our appetites immediately, scared to find even more objects in the food. While eating, it didn’t help the table was broken and kept wobbling making it hard to eat. The audacity of the staff acting all arrogant and displeased that we had some serious issues with our service, also made us uncomfortable. The entire birthday dinner was absolutely ruined, and we wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else unless you want diarrhoea and terrible service. I hate to leave bad reviews but this night was abysmal and anyone wanting to go here should be warned."

"I booked the Spitting Pig for 2 separate work lunch events to treat the staff. They catered for 200 people on both dates, one of the dates there was a lunch and evening session as we work on shifts. Right from booking the events, with lots of calls to change numbers and add items to the guys arriving to set up I knew it was going to be a success. The food and service was amazing, we had whole pigs on both days, chicken and vegetarian options with fries and salad sides. All supplied with cold fizzy drinks. They supplied everything including cutlery, plates, napkins, sauces, everything we needed. Charlie and Tim on the Monday you were great, as both you were Sean and Charlie on the Friday. For catering for all the staff that were only on their breaks so short time scales it couldn’t have ran smoother, even in the rain!! Thanks guys, we definitely know who to book with for our next event."

"I visited this restaurant to celebrate my sister's 11th birthday. We ordered a mango smoothie, Ferrero Rocher sundae, Cookie Monster milkshake, and milk chocolate cookie dough. I had heard great reviews about this place, but I felt that it was lacking something. The sundae was okay, it looked nice but tasted like a thick mixture of chocolate and hazelnut. While the warm cookie dough was an interesting concept and tasted good, I expected better for the price. The mango smoothie was delicious and better than other well-known drink brands. However, the Cookie Monster milkshake was disappointing. It did not have cookie dough mixed in, yet they served it warmed on the side. Instead, it had Maryland cookies, Oreos, and Galaxy Cookie Crumble, resulting in a strange and bland taste with a hint of hazelnut. In my opinion, the simpler desserts like ice cream, warm cookie dough, or smoothies are better options as some of the more complex desserts seemed to be ruined by the odd combinations of ingredients. Overall, the restaurant is good, and maybe it will improve in the future. We visited shortly after opening, so perhaps timing played a role in our experience."

"Dont venture to Burnley much but Hubby works there and I had gone shopping. Met hubby for lunch and he suggested here. Upon entering he noticed that it looked different and had a slight refurb. We found a table, looked at the menu and downloaded the Wetherspoon app. It was only then we noticed that it was no longer a Wetherspoon pub. I went to the bar to order and there were 2 people serving. 6 customers at the bar. When I got to the front, the bar was dirty and sticky with spilled drinks. Was told food would be 20 mins as they were busy. Was more like 40 mins as there was only one girl in the kitchen and she was cooking, waiting on AND cleaning tables. 2 staff behind bar didn't offer to help out.Cheese and onion pie flat as a pancake and burnt. Peas cold. Chips overcooked.Wont be returning"
