"I have a gluten sensitivity and was excited to order a jacket potato when I went out to celebrate my birthday with friends, but was disappointed to find out that it was no longer on the menu. The only option available for me was gammon, which was not what I had hoped for. I will not be returning to the Haywain, even though it is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from my house. "It’s been a while since we ate here. We were very impress with the new decor. Service was great from the moment we walked in. They didn’t rush us to our table so we were able to relax in the bar for a drink. The young lady that was our server was polite, not pushy but apologise for the delay. We didn’t feel there was one. They were busy in the restaurant with a huge group so that’s most probably why she felt she should apologise. She knew what was available so when we order three of the same starters she knew straight away there was only two left, normally in our experience you order the food and the waitress would come back to say not available. She made sure through out our stay that we were ok and kept us topped up with drinks. Food was fantastic and good value for money. Told my husband we should make the effort and come here more often."
