"Very mixed experience as far as food was concerned. I enjoyed the three courses, the main in particular but do not feel it was value for money. My wife had two courses, the first she felt was very bland and she did not enjoy the main course of duck breast which was chewy and lacked a crisp skin. Definitely poor value. I have to praise the two young people who waited on they were very professional and attentive which made up for the lack of atmosphere in the dining room. Overall it's unlikely we would visit again. As a matter of interest, the photos and recipes in 2009 Bryan Webb's book show very little has changed. The decor is still the same and many of the recipes were still used."

The food was absolutely outstanding, earning a perfect score of 5. Every dish was flavorful and well crafted. The service was equally impressive, also deserving a 5. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring that our needs were met throughout the evening. The atmosphere was delightful as well, creating a warm and inviting setting that contributed to a memorable night. Overall, I highly recommend this place for dinner!"

"after a day here for dinner. they managed to fit us into a bank holiday! after the first impression the pub appeared very cozy with a country village pub vibe. this was nice, when we were in the area we were greeted by the feeling of a very cozy country room with very little noise. it was a nice atmosphere. the nice staff who drew us attention all night, presented us menus. I expected a classic pub menu, I was very wrong. the menu was a great selection of top menu options such as salmon, king prawns, wellington absolutely fabulous for the choice. eating came on and how pictured I was absolutely blown away from the fantastic presentation and the quality was top notch. we were super impressed by the food and service of this very traditional looking place. this is simply better than some of the top chain restaurants I visited and certainly had a fantastic team."
