"We booked online and that service was very efficient. Pleasant location and nicely fitted out inside and on terrace. We started to order but were surprised to find when it came to drinks that there was absolutely no alcohol served, not even lo beer! I respect that any proprietor can impose their own opinions but unless I missed something I saw no mention of this on the website nor in any of the good reviews I checked before booking. It was disappointing; hope I 'm not considered an alky but a couple of beers with a good spicy curry are almost part of the experience, and I 've never been to an Indian restaurant in France, Spain or Britain that barred booze. (OK, in Nairobi yes, but that was a very local place). If they are going to impose an unusual restriction then make it very clear on the web and at least on the front door, and we wouldn 't have stayed. You 'd be silly to expect a steak in a restaurant advertised as vegetarian (which I am, BTW), so make things clear beforehand. By the time we realised we had ordered mains and it was a bit late, and rude, to walk out. Also, as a veggy I generally order Palaak Paneer and have always found this in the very many Indian restaurants I have visited. Here, it was on the menu, but only available as an 'accompaniment '; I was told I had to order a main course from the extensive meat and seafood menu, which also seemed rather controlling. Long and short, if you don 't drink and aren 't a veggie then you will enjoy the good food. Service was efficient if a bit offhand if you wanted anything different. We shan 't be back."
