"I was so pleased at how quickly they delivered and the staff taking the order. However, I now know why! They can surely not be doing very much business as the food was swimming in sauce. There was only 7 bits of meat (small as well! In each of the items I ordered (lamb Goan and chicken balti . The sauce was fine, and that's just it! FINE! BUT, the meat on the lamb was covered in salt. I have not tried the chicken yet but I imagine it will be the same. Then there is the rice (pilau . Poor quality is an under statement. Not what I would expect for basmati rice. I know as I lived in Hong Kong for over 25 years and rice is my form of carbs. We had many Indian restaurants out there and as it was back then, part of the british empire. Hence, the not adapted to UK standards. A true Indian (one of my school friends would not consider it good. This meal cost me £16.70! I would have better spent my money on a ding, ding microwave meal on one of Tesco's finest curry meals ,(also, not that great either but value wise would have been a better option . Please do not confuse this place (takeaway to the old Gandhi Restaurant which used to be in Cosham High Street. It was very good when I used to go there but it has since closed. A"

"I thought I would start the week with a curry. Ordered online for a later collection. I fancied a change from my usual mixed grill and opted for my other favourite which is a Thali. Good portion size including chicken tikka, kebab, tikka masala and a lamb curry. This was washed down with rice and a naan bread. The tikka and kebab were quite nice. Well cooked and fairly well spiced. The two curries were ok. Nothing to write home about but perfectly acceptable. The naan was properly cooked and had a lovely flavour There was a lot of it and I was unable to finish it. I would recommend this place if you are after a decent good value meal."

"We were staying at the Premier Inn, just 5 minutes away, and decided to go out for a snack. We were so impressed with the pizza that we ended up going back for more. We tried the Spicy Mexican, which had plenty of toppings and a light, fluffy crust. The woman who served us and made the pizza was excellent, very friendly and skilled at making delicious pizzas. She definitely deserves a shoutout for her great service."

"We were booked in for lunch in a group of Bellringers. I had previously visited to check out the pub and was welcomed and had a drink and beautiful ham sandwich. We were very impressed that we did not need to preorder our food, which we have often needed to do as we were a group of 12. The menu choice was extensive. I was amazed that a special 2 course choice was only £6.00, The quantity and quality of all the food ordered was excellent. The service was friendly and efficient. I would recommend this venue."

"We started with the yuzu yellowtail tiradito. After the first bite, my partner and I exchanged glances, realizing that this level of flavor could easily compete in fine dining restaurants. It was a complex combination of sweet and sour, with a lovely hint of spice, and the yellowtail tasted incredibly fresh—no slimy or fishy scent or taste whatsoever. Next, we tried the mixed tempura. Initially, we were disappointed that there was no standard dipping sauce, but once we took our first bite, we understood: it was perfectly crispy and flavorful, and too much sauce would have detracted from it. You could genuinely taste the freshness of the ingredients. My partner and I appreciate that true Japanese chefs focus on detail, so we paid close attention to how the food was prepared and presented. The shrimp tails were impeccably clean, with no black markings, and the vegetables were equally fresh. We also ordered the pork katsu curry, which came piled high with a tender pork fillet and a wonderfully robust Japanese curry sauce that was rich in flavor (unfortunately, no photo, as I was too caught up in enjoying it). As for the chef and the restaurant itself, I discovered this gem early one morning when I happened to pass by and checked the high reviews even though it was closed. I decided to return later that evening. They don’t take reservations since it’s a small place, particularly known for takeout, with a bar-style setup where customers sit along the window next to where the sushi chef works, plus one small table off to the side. When we arrived for dinner, we were surprised to find no Japanese staff working there at all; I even stepped outside to double-check that we were in the right place. We decided to go ahead and order, and we were thrilled we did. While chatting with a Sri Lankan cook, we asked how his food turned out so well, and we all shared a good laugh. He has been in the Japanese fine dining scene for 25 years and wanted to open his own small restaurant offering high-quality food at affordable prices. We ended up discussing Japanese cuisine for two hours—including how they store, prepare, and present their dishes. They emphasized that they only use the finest ingredients, even down to the salt for sushi. The staff are wonderful people, highly skilled in what they do, and they truly deserve recognition. Thank you for the delightful meal; it was a pleasure to meet you all. P.S. Special thanks for the off-menu aburi salmon!"

"Have visited a few times now, as well as trying out the delivery service. Shop experience: staff can be quiet and non welcoming at times. Would be a good idea to familiarise themselves with what they include in their items for example if a freakshake is advertised as having 2 iced donuts, it should have 2 iced donuts and not 1 hoping the customer won’t notice. In addition if two identical shakes are ordered they should both have the same items, not extra for one and less for the other. If there is a problem with fulfilling something on the menu the customer should be made aware and given the option to order something else. The cheesecake jars are not available all of the time, their availability depends on the time of day. With all the Facebook posts promoting these it should be obvious they will be popular, but going at the wrong time of day will see you stick with a sundae or waffle which frankly you can get in most places. Delivery option: I tried this out of curiosity how would they deliver a freakshake and would it be edible when they did. Well to the latter, no it wasn’t. It arrived in a sloppy mess, in a plastic cup similar to those Starbucks use, with a donut in a separate take away container. It was warm and frankly disgusting. All in all was disappointed in all my experiences of this place. After all the hype I expected something amazing. It was barely average."

"Visits Monday night. The staff was friendly and helpful. Food was great! We drove through Reading and stayed at the hotel (one night), so wanted to eat something on site. We had read a few reviews that say it was something meh, but our experience wasn't that! We had both appetizers that we did not regret later on because of the quality, but because none of us could finish our net, which was absolutely wonderful!!!! The butter Chicken sauce was completely divine! Upstairs when out, the house Pinot was cold and sweet and the Cobra beer was fizzy. Both perfect compliments for our meal. If we go through reading again, we would absolutely not hesitate to eat there. 5 stars of us!"

"I am extremely disappointed with my recent experiences at Just Wings. Despite ordering online through their website, my orders have consistently been delayed, requiring me to call for updates. The excuses are always the same - "really busy tonight" or "not enough drivers." One time, I even offered to pick up my order myself, but was not offered any compensation. Tonight was no different, with my delivery time changing from 50 minutes to an hour and 20 minutes in an email, and now it has been over 2 hours. When I called to inquire about my order, I was told it was just being cooked and should have already been out for delivery. This is unacceptable, and I am still waiting for my food. All I received was a half-hearted apology, which does not make up for the poor service I have received."
