"Well what can I say it was absolutely stunning, table of 4, poached salmon, mushroom risotto, corn beef pie and a beautiful pheasant and cranberry pie all very exquisite and good value for money, waiter and waitress was very attentive and a warm welcoming atmosphere!! The best food iv ever tasted!! Will be back again for some more grub!!! Price per person: £10–20"

"We discovered The Royal Age after learning it was taken over by the owners of our local pub, and we couldn't be happier that we found it! The bratwurst and subs burger I had was fantastic! The chips were exceptional, unlike anything I've seen before. With the delicious food and the impressive attention to detail in the presentation, I'm thrilled that we've found this place. The staff was wonderful, the prices were very reasonable, and the atmosphere of the pub is lovely. We'll definitely be back—100%! Keep up the great work, everyone!"

"Ordered through just eat and we waited 45 mins as advised so once we we waited an hour and still no food we phoned and was told it was on the way without asking for our address. We then waited 10 mins and then phoned again and then was told the driver tried to deliver and left because he couldn’t find us then was told the driver would come back within 10 mins. After this we said no we don’t want cold food and cancel the order and then within 5 mins the driver was at our door saying the food was only ready 10 mins before and he picked it up with the food being cold No one knows what’s going on and argue on the phone with you even though you are the ones paying for this shocking service."

"Visited recently mid week. Very disappointed. Order mixed grilled starter.well it certainly was grilled more like incinerated. Main course very poor, two of the chicken curries had clear water running off in the terrines which denotes one thing microwave. They could of at least finished...the ‘dish’ in the pan, in an attempt to disguise the ping a ling cooking.. I fully appreciate its hard at the moment to keep a full menu stocked but that shouldn’t reflect in the meal delivered to paying customers. Only went because the local Chilli Lounge was unexpectedly closed. Won’t return."

"A real hidden gem! The atmosphere is lovely, situated in the crypts below Huddersfield Parish Church creates a cozy space for a relaxed brunch. There is also seating outside with great views of the church itself. The food was gorgeous, and reasonably priced for a luxury experience. There's a great range of food suitable for any meal, breakfast, brunch, lunch, even afternoon tea! They also have a little food shop in the entrance with local brands of sweets, biscuits and various jams and sauces."

"I recently enjoyed the best burger I've had in a long time at this restaurant. It was incredibly tasty and filled with delicious ingredients. I traveled quite a distance to get here, but it was definitely worth it. The staff was friendly and efficient, and the restaurant had a classic diner ambiance. The place was nice, clean, and well-maintained. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food, and you can easily find a worse burger for a higher price elsewhere. I would recommend making a reservation if you plan to visit during peak hours, although there is a bar available in that case. Overall, I highly recommend checking out this restaurant."

"It was my first time going to Hinchcliffe's Farm Shop a few days ago and wasn't disappointed. They have an amazing range of products with such fab quality. The beef sandwich and éclairs were to die for! The chocolate in the éclair wasn't like the usual cheap stuff you usually get on them. They have a good size car park and it was very busy. Just proves how popular this farm shop is :"

"After a moderately disappointing experience with an evening meal for friends which we forgave and put down to bad luck on the day we gave the restaurant another opportunity and booked a three course meal for a family celebration. Food was ok but overall a really disappointing experience. Dairy free diner; after checking twice with staff who flippantly said the cream on top of soup was dairy free, had suspicions confirmed on third check that it was infact cream! Poor form and understandably made this diner wary about the establishments allergen awareness to their whole meal. Service staff were disinterested, inattentive and the experience was mired by service that was so dreadfully slow, at one point we had just sit and watch food after asking for cutlery twice. Lovely venue and as a business owner I appreciate the financial investment it must have taken to set up but it’s such a shame that they just can’t muster the service and food to match. "I hadn't been there in a while, so I enjoyed my meal. This place could use some updates, but I feel like it wouldn't have the same charm if they did! We booked a table for 5:30 PM, and there were many young families around, making it quite noisy. However, I chose to go early since I prefer not to eat too late. The spare ribs were excellent, and I ordered a calzone pizza as my main dish. Unfortunately, the top of the calzone was burnt! I peeled off the burnt part and ate the rest. When the staff came to collect our plates, I mentioned the burn, and the look on his face said it all. I shouldn’t have had to point it out! They were very understanding and took it off our bill. Next time, I think I'll go around 7 PM and try the pasta for a change."

"Lovely little cafe, excellent home made food and the cakes are to die for! The staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable. Go on, treat yourself! Update: these lovely ladies do outside catering and make cakes for special occasions, like the one that they made for my daughters wedding! Very highly recommended. Update These lovely ladies have remained open during much of the lockdown doing takeaways only due to the space inside the Coffee Lounge. Please do not be put off by this. The takeaway food is just as good as when you eat in. The paninis are simply delicious and if you drop lucky and they have their sausage plait on offer when you visit jump at the chance, it is a rare treat. I urge you to pop in and grab some takeaway food from the Mardy Crumb and support our local businesses during these difficult times. You will not regret it."

"The new management is turning Zubarah into one of the best restaurants in Huddersfield. The lamb was excellent; tender with a a very light spice that let you taste the meat and a hint of grilling. The grilled vegetables on the side were an excellent accompaniment. The onions and tomatoes had light grill marks and were firm and fresh to the taste. The standout piece in the grilled vegetables though was the grilled chili pepper. The pepper was grilled just right to have a waxy, blistered skin with blackening and a soft moist interior. When broken and coupled with the lamb the pepper had a slow, pleasing burn. The accompanying salad of tomatoes, herbs, and sliced green peppers had a very light sprinkle of dressing and added just the right touch of earthy and sour flavours to the meal, it's unusual to find a salad with a kick to it The kanafeh perfect with just enough sweetness and a hint of warm rose. I found the rose flavoring in particular to carry a top note of sweet hay that you don't find in artificial rose flavoring. The karak and Arabic coffee alone were worth the trip in!"

The staff are courteous, and the shop is well-organized and appealingly presented. They follow Covid guidelines diligently, creating a pleasant and safe shopping experience. It's not the place for everyday grocery shopping, but overall, it’s a delightful treat."

"Came in to try the steak burger with chips, onion rings and coleslaw. Firstly and most importantly everything was clearly fresh. Chips were hand cut, onion rings nicely fried and the coleslaw homemade. The burger had a crispy bun which stood up to the beef patty and was accompanied by a tangy relish. Service was friendly and efficient and clearly the whole family are invested in the success of the business. The only small thing I would change is to not put rocket in the burger, it wilts and offers less texture than say regular iceberg lettuce. Other than that I would highly recommend and will be back to try the Mauritian beef curry. Please support them as a locally run family business!"
