"Location if you are visiting Warwick castle, is great. However, this is where the good points stop. When we arrived, we were greeted by an aspestos removal van for a start. Overall, we felt utterly scammed by the hotel. Firstly, when booking a Relais and Chateaux accredited hotel, you expect a certain level of service , room and amenities. We booked a dog friendly room, and of course accepted that we would be in a room designed to reflect this. We did not however, expect to me carted off to a different building that resembled a shabby travelodge. The room was almost identical to a travelodge, just with nicer biscuits. The walls were scuffed, floor dirty, toilet flush barley working and bits falling off the shower when we tried to use it. The dog bed stank of wee and the robes provided we shabby and mottled. They did leave a nice treat for the dog so that was lovely, to give some credit to the team. On top of all this, you are told upon arrival that you should you wish to use any of the hotel facilities, you will be charged £15pp, which is far from five star service given the nightly rate. At breakfast the following morning, the matrede acted as if I had somehow inconvenience them. I was finally seated, and after 20 minutes I managed to order. 10 minutes after this someone actually bought me a menu, which wasn't helpful by this point. The breakfast was tasty when it finally arrived. I asked for some butter for my toast and the waitress proceeded to lean over to a table that had yet to be cleared and grab the USED butter, complete with crumbs and mashed up bits of food, and place this in front of me. When I asked for fresh butter, I again appeared to have inconvenienced the team. Overall, this felt like an expensive travelodge and a real stain on the Relais and Chateux name."
