"We had a fabulous meal at Zante this evening. The chef made us feel right at home, even though the menu looked much different than what we usually see in the States. I had the Greek salad; the portion size is quite large, but it was delicious. My husband had the grilled olive bread. He loved it. For mains, we went with chicken pitta skepasti (a sort of grilled sandwich and the lamb stiffado, a stewed lamb dish. The latter was so good, I wanted to lick the plate. Husband also like the skepasti, which had great flavors. The chef talked us into a piece (a large piece! of baklava. Not too sweet (yay! and delicious. The restaurant is across the walkway from an NHS building. Kinda hard to find, but worth it."

"This restaurant is truly a hidden gem! The food was incredible, packed with flavor and incredibly fresh; the meat was tender and juicy. We sampled a variety of dishes and each one was delicious! The portion sizes were just right, whether it was appetizers, entrees, or sides. The service was excellent; our server was friendly and professional, always attentive to our needs. Overall, it was an amazing experience and if we lived nearby, we would definitely be regulars! I highly recommend trying it if you are in the area!"

"I booked a couple of rooms for two nights and, to be honest, I didn't expect much for the price. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the facilities at the Belmill. The rooms were spotless - my wife even did a thorough inspection and gave it 10/10 for cleanliness. The shower room was very modern with double shower heads and complimentary toiletries. The tea/coffee tray was well stocked with delicious biscuits. The towels were large, fluffy, and white. The bed had crisp white linens and was comfortable. The food at the restaurant was excellent. Breakfast started a bit late, but it was worth the wait. The next morning, a lovely basket of fresh towels, toiletries, and biscuits was left outside our door with a welcoming note from Tricia, letting us know to ask for more towels if needed. I've been to many hotels, but the warm welcome we received at the Belmill made me eager to return."

"My husband and I visited for meal together and while the food was good the service was not. Took 30 minutes to clear away our main course plates after we were finished and we were the only table in. Didn't ask if we wanted dessert and as we had ordered off the pre theatre menu tea/coffee or ice cream were included, I had to go to the bar to order dessert. Very slow response again after we were finished our desserts so just went to bar to pay. Be careful as they added a tip to our bill in the middle between meals and drinks so you might not notice and tip twice."

"The children ordered spaghetti bolognese, which was a decent Ragu. The pasta was cooked well. My wife had the carbonara, which was also prepared well and the sauce was satisfactory. I chose the Veal Milanese, but unfortunately, the veal was bland and tough, likely not fresh but possibly defrosted. The breadcrumbs were oily, and the spaghetti Napoli was just okay. My daughter tried the supposedly homemade Tiramisu, which was not authentic but more of a creamy cake that tasted alright. In all honesty, the chefs seem to struggle with preparing Italian cuisine. I am puzzled as to how this establishment received a rating of 4.7. People of Cumbernauld, please take note that this is not genuine Italian food; rather, it is food with an Italian influence prepared to an average standard. The staff were pleasant and proficient at clearing tables, but little else. Overall, I would rate the food a 1, service a 1, and atmosphere a 1."

"Dalshanan Farm was the next on the list of “Scottish Curry Award winners”. I’ve been looking forward to this for a few weeks since visiting two other winners (Edinburgh). We drove 80 miles each way for what we expected to be a great curry. Unfortunately the experience didn’t live up to the expectation. We ordered a mixed platter to start which was just a plate of deep fried things! Over cooked (especially the samosa) , dry and pretty bad. A shame considering the reputation. My curry was bland, under seasoned and zero spice. I did raise this and the fantastic waiter (I suspect owner) changed it for another dish that apparently had more flavour. It did come out quickly but unfortunately had marginally more flavour and was spicier but absolutely doesn’t warrant the “HOT” warning. Looking at some reviews on here it seems like things have changed since they won the award. It was a long way to go for a meal that wasn’t memorable at all. Such a shame."

"Some members of the family had eaten here previously and been impressed so was an easy choice for a family birthday. Shown immediately to a well spaced table at the rear of the restaurant, drinks order taken promptly and delivered to the table. Same with the food order. Up to this point this was a 10/10 visit. Any interaction with staff was cheerful, polite and timely. Everyone enjoyed their food although a recurring thought was the desire for more gravy with the beef daub. We were given time and space to enjoy both courses whilst being offered a second round of drinks which again arrived promptly. Around 20 minutes after finishing our main courses, our glasses were empty our conversation turned to debating dessert and coffee. Sadly by this time there wasn’t a member of staff to be seen, tables around us seemed to be at similar stages of their meals. It reminded us of being on a long haul flight where the crew serve the meal and then retreat to the galley and draw the curtain. Eventually a member of the family went on a staff hunt. After deciding against desserts we had to go on another hunt to find someone so we could pay. Pretty sure we could have done a runner and got away with it. Am not saying this is a bad restaurant because the pluses outweigh the negatives but the staff hunt took the edge off of what would have been an excellent family event."

"Yesterday, on September 27th, 2021, three adults and a baby went to the restaurant for dinner. We were the only table in the restaurant. My son ordered a plain burger, but it came out with everything on it despite him specifically asking for it plain. We sent it back, and it was returned to the table less than 2 minutes later. The kitchen had removed the relish, sauce, and salad, but there was a hair inside the burger. This is highly unacceptable, especially considering that my son could have had a serious allergic reaction if he had been allergic to tomatoes. If the restaurant had been busy, I might have been more understanding, but this quality of food being served in an empty restaurant is appalling. The chef should be ashamed of serving inedible food. As a result, my son did not eat as he was put off by the experience. Perhaps this is the reason why the restaurant was empty - if this is the type of service coming from the kitchen."

"This was my first visit to the Smiddy Inn and it certainly won't be my last. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food and service were excellent. Despite it being my first time there, I was impressed and will definitely be returning. "Upon arrival, the staff at the reception were very helpful and efficient. We had made a reservation for 7:30 pm at the restaurant and arrived on time. However, we were made to wait for ten minutes before being shown to our table. The service was incredibly slow, and it took nearly an hour for our meal to arrive, despite being assured multiple times that it was on its way. Although the food was tasty, the portions were very small. The Waldorf salad was particularly disappointing, as it mainly consisted of chicory leaves with a tiny piece of blue cheese. Nevertheless, when we raised our concerns, they did deduct the cost of the salad from our bill."

"Have been several times and its always been fine but last visit, wasnt as impressed. Paid £12.95 for a chicken curry with rice with option to pay £3 supplement to have tikka but £16 for chicken tikka seemed alot! My main issue is that I had 6 small pieces of chicken in a tiny bowl and some rice but there wasnt enough sauce to eat half of the rice as there was so little. It was £32 for 2 mains and 2 soft drinks and just didnt represent good value with no garnish or bread when places like the Bombay Cottage offer 3 courses for less. May be better value if you have several courses as its a set price for 1, 2 or 3 courses. The staff are lovely and its a nice place and to be fair, other options may offer more value for money. The food was nice but not the best Indian we have had."

"Very nice experience. Staff very nice. Had Penne Salsiccia, which was very good with a bit of a kick in spices. Had chocolate cheese cake that was very light. Coffee was expresso, however was not warned how hot it was and burned my mouth. Was not impressed with the garlic bread. Asked for a side order of garlic bread and I was told I also would get with my meal. However was brought two small pieces of regular bread with garlic butter spread on it. Compared to what I get at other Italian restaurants I was very disappointed."

"on a busy Friday night for something to eat and were sitting on a high table left the bar, but were then quickly moved to a big stand near the middle, as a reservation was canceled, which was great. my friend and I love eating tapas style and decided to share a selection of starters. everything was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. cocktails and coffee also top notch! wonderful, friendly staff! some beautiful artworks that they have on the walls. highly recommended and will definitely be back!"

"The restaurant was far too busy on the bank holiday and too many people coming in for food than they could handle, we were sat and waited 25 minutes had to ask someone for drinks, no one had explained the silly cube concept too, the food was certainly over priced, the chicken zinger burger didn't taste fresh, more processed than anything else. The drinks were quite good nice bubblegum cocktail, I would come back for drinks but give food a miss. Either need more staff to cope with demand or not take as many bookings."

"Went for lunch with family, service was slow, we ordered 2 club sandwiches, a kids meals and a tuna toastie. We waited about 15 minutes for our order, and we got the kids' meals and club sandwiches. These looked nice, got lots on the plate and tasted okay. I then waited a further 10 minutes for my toastie when this finally came there was no apology about the wait?!! This was served on a small plate with a handful of chips, the toastie was lukewarm and tasted salty(I could've made a better one myself). Place is extremely overpriced for what you get, not enough staff and no one seemed interested when I looked to ask about my meal. I will not be back!! "I have visited this restaurant several times and each time I have been impressed. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is really inviting. The interior is quirky with a living bush in the middle of the square, giving it a unique touch. The facility is very clean and the staff are always friendly, welcoming us with a beautiful smile. On my last visit with my partner and baby, we tried the kartoffelschon breakfast package which was mouthwatering and very filling. It was a complete breakfast wrapped in a large potato roll, and we didn't need to eat anything else for the rest of the day. The price was good, the staff were helpful and friendly, and the menu was varied. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone."
