"I cannot tell you how amazing our visit to La Limonaia was last week! Originally, we were going to go to Il Portico , but after an extremely rude greeting stating, No more tables tonight! Ciao (even though they continued to sit Italians), we were forced to find another closeby restaurant. I went onto Trip Advisor and used the Near By feature to find another restaurant. WOW! Are we lucky we were handled so poorly at Il Portico so that we could experience La Limonaia! When you first enter the driveway to this magical venue, you are immediately blown away by the fantastic centuries old trees lining the path on both sides. After driving about 200 yards, we parked and walked up to the gates to the lemon garden where the seating is for dining. A spectacular decor of magnificent lemon trees, rose bushes, lighting, and enough citronella candles to keep you bite free for the evening, we immediately fell in love! As you walk along the green pathway overlaying the pebbles, you hear elegant music playing in the background and feel at home. The groto at the end of the path is the most amazing site to be seen here a beautiful combination of architecture, flowers, and a waterfall. Stunning! The chairs were covered in white cloth and the tables adorned with fantastic glassware. Our waiters, Leonardo and Lara, were the highlight of the evening. They spoke some English, and mixed with our some Italian, it was a perfect match. Attentive, courteous, and easy going was both of their personalities. We enjoyed a fabulous meal with a mixture of foods such as fresh mushrooms, homemade pasta, perfectly cooked beef tenderloins, succulent eggplant, and veal that will have you wanting to make another trip to Italy very soon! All 7 of us were extremely happy! Grapa, limoncello, and mini Klondike type candies finished off the delicious meal. It was perfect! At the end, we were asked if we 'd like a tour and of course we did! We saw the inside banquet area, the outdoor cocktail area for events, and learned a little about the history of the grounds. I must say, this is simply one of the top 5 most beautiful restaurants I have been to in my life.... and I 've been to over 12 countries and 25 states in the USA. The best part? My meal was only 18 Euro for beef tips and vegetables! Incredible pricing on top of the most superior surroundings you could ask for... it doesn 't get better than this!! A must go!! You will not be disappointed!! We went as a family, but you can easily go as a couple... it would be extremely romantic. I would not suggest going solo or with children. The venue may even be a bit intimate for business, but not out of the question."
