"Visited yesterday at 4pm and can confidently say we will never return. Ordered 4 soft drinks which took over 20 minutes to arrive and when they did arrived incorrect with additional drinks we didn't order. When ordering our food, several things we wanted off the menus including the childrens menu) were not available however nobody had said this to us prior and the waitress looked this this was clearly news to her when I informed her someone should have said this when we say down. 2 of our group ordered starters- £8 for 4 pathetic peices of calamari which didnt even have a piece of lemon or a bit of garnish on the side for presentation purposes- absolute rip off! Ordered 3 sunday lunches which took over hour to arrive and when they did eventually arrive were cold and missing the veg. When I questioned where the veg was on the plate, the waitress returned with some limp, wet and pathetic looking cabbage on a puddle and said there were no carrotts left. No apology no nothing. Told her is really wasnt acceptable and again was looked at like I was just being difficult. 5 minutes later another waitress appear with some equally pathetic looking carrots so they did have some clearly. Husbands chicken burger looked equally poor and pretty dry and burnt. The weather also took a turn whilst we were waiting for our food which had resulted in groups of drenched and very drunk people coming in from the beer garden who were being loud and brash cheering and just generally being drunken. The so called manager said and did nothing to quieten them down even though you could clearly feel a change of atmosphere inside from a family venue to what felt like being in the weatherspoon at 11pm on a Saturday night. As a result of the drunk groups, people were getting up and moving trying to get a table away from the noise and rowdiness. 2 pensioners who had moved eventually gave up and left without ordering informing the manager that it was because of the noise...again he did and said nothing. We couldn't bare being in the place for another minute so asked for the bill instead of desert. This arrived included drinks we didn't have on it which we had to get removed. Overall the service was terrible, food was shocking and atmophere awful. I never write reviews but didnt feel I could leave this one without one. This place needs to decide it its a bar or a restraunt, the manager needs to take charge, co-ordinate his staff and get a backbone to deal with drunken customers and the waitresses need some real training in expectations of good service."

"Myself and two friends retired) who lunch out quite often, were recommended the White Hart at Heywood. The food was lovely, couldn't fault it. Unfortunately, one of the bar staff/waitress had a really bad attitude! We'd ordered the food, and drinks. She didn't ask if we wanted ice in the drinks, she should have asked, not everyone likes ice in their drinks), but loaded it in anyway. I asked her politely could she take the ice out of the glass..she proceeded to throw the contents of the glass away, including the orange slice and didnt replace it. Ok fine..wish I'd have not bothered, and just tipped the ice onto the carpet under the table! We had ordered the offer of lunch meal and a drink, and pudding at £2 if wanted. No complaints about the food, it was lovely. We went back to the bar to order a pudd at £2 part of the offer), this person charged us the full price. When I queried it, she said we should have ordered the pudding at the time of ordering food. Well who knows if they are going to have a pudding right away? She knew full well we had the lunch offer, but still charged us full price. Not everyone knows if they will be too full to order pudding, but the offer should be there anyway. When I pointed this out, she then absolutely banged out the till and reduced the charge to the offer, stating she didnt have to do this, but was doing us a favour! She had a sour bad attitude from when we first came in, maybe got out of bed the wrong side, or someone had upset her. This is not good customer service. Dont work in a job like this if you cant hack it. We actually checked the menuand showed it to her when leaving, and said it doesnt state anywhere on that menu you had to order the pudding with the food. She said it was policy there, but in our experience if you wish to order the offer of pudding, you wait to see if you are too full to fit it in, and then decide. This happens everywhere we have been. Her attitude was bad. The other waitresses who served the meal were lovely, no complaints about them. Safe to say although the food was really good..we wlll not be returning this pub restaurant again....."

"My first visit to the Sir Winston Churchill Harvester, has been outstanding. From the minute you walk in, you are greeted by attentive staff (Noriel and Danielle) even when their busy! Outstanding Efforts and customer care were made by Noriel, a member of staff whom is very efficient and caring towards my mum having severe walking difficulties; finding a suitable booth near the disabled toilet. Throughout the entire meal, Noriel was very helpful and nothing was too much! Given we had just arrived from Christie’s hospital both hungry and tired it was a very enjoyable meal coupled with excellent customer care. The food was excellent. Mum had fish and mash and the rest of the party had sirloin steak which was cooked to perfection! Richard the Manager also provided a free dessert as it was a birthday occasion the chocolate fudge cake was delicious! An outstanding evening. Since my recent first visit, we are now regular visitors. Jenny the Manager provides excellent customer care and has dealt with any issues swiftly and effectively. Dale and Richard also part of the management team, have both been making sure that our seating requirements are met and my disabled mum is comfortable and the food has met her dietary requirements. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they are all lovely staff! Every visitor has been consistent, enjoyable and is worth the visit. Unfortunately this is not the case with Derby Pool Harvester in New Brighton which could learn from the management of the Sir Winston Churchill in Rochdale. Their service levels, standard of food and customer care and efficiency is not on par with the Sir Winston Churchill Harvester in Rochdale. Well done, Sir Winston Churchill Harvester, you are definitely my favourite Harvester so far!"

"WARNING MAKE SURE YOU CHECK, DOUBLE AND TRIPLE CHECK YOUR RECEIPT !!!! We visited 11.11.2023 and were ‘nearly’ overcharged by £120 !!!!! You must make sure your amount is correct especially if you are in a large group. It’s a good job my husband had his wits about him as he noticed a MASSIVE discrepancy in the total amount. It then took over half and hour to sort it all out as they were trying to double charge for items that were already in the set meals !!! The waiter was getting very annoyed with us BUT TOUGH…We were not prepared to pay OVER what we had actually ordered. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BE CAREFUL AND CHECK CHECK AND CHECK AGAIN ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A LARGE GROUP BOOKING If you are a large group booking, you will be asked to pay a deposit of £10 per head. A few of our group unfortunately didn’t attend due to illness, the staff were not happy about that and pulled their face !!!! WOW, can’t help illness. The service was on the worse side of ok, frantic, understaffed, forgetful (my sister asked for a drink 4 times) a few miserable staff members and it was only early evening service. Kids meals : Eggs and chips. Eggs are poached not fried and my granddaughter didn’t eat them as they genuinely didn’t look cooked. Sent them back and 20 minutes later the meal came out again but the eggs just didn’t look cooked so she just ate her chips. Portion of mixed starter : Good but samosa was very oily inedible, the rest was very nice. Portion sizes of pilau rice and chips : Very small and expensive. Portions of naan bread : Medium, expensive but nice and fresh. Portions of main meals : Good but liquidy and just alright taste wise. Drinks are all bottled and expensive. Interior is absolutely lovely. Menu colour is bad for your eyes as it’s gold on black. Menu doesn’t inform you of how spicy the dishes are so you have to ask waiting on staff. This was our first and last visit. We simply didn’t like the place or the atmosphere. We will not visit here again, we have had better food and service elsewhere and we do not recommend it…at all."
