"We were on holiday directly in Schalkenmahren and this restaurant recommended us our landlord. The restaurant has a very nice terrace. As always, we're reserved here. We sat under a beautiful pear. When the service came, we asked what beer there is from the barrel. That was some of them. We chose the Steinfelder Klosterbier.0.5 L. to 5,20 Euro. With the beer order, we also discuss the menu directly. It was 5 pm 50 and the answer of the service, kitchen is only from 6 pm. Well, but the map, can we look in advance? It was pleasant that at the side table a couple sat at our age who had 2 small dogs. Well, then, as a dog owner, of course, we have direct conversation topics. That was nice. At the appetizer, we agreed again. We took the crazy goat, 9,90 euros. These were homemade noodle bags filled with eager goat cheese. There were also tomato sauces with prawn. It was a good start. Pleasantly spicy and completely sufficient. Before the main horses came, we ordered 2 stone fields of monastery beer. After the first drink I noticed that the beer tastes a little different than the first beer. When I spoke to the service, she thought it would be a dark beer. Don't be. When my male pays the bill, I only saw later that we actually got 2 monastery beers and 2 Eifeler Landbier. The price was the same, but I don't even like being ver... I've already fallen. Now to the main foods. Males took the Schnitzel Eifeler Art, with roast potatoes, bacon and mirror egg, to 17,90 euros. It tasted, but he wasn't euphoic. I ordered myself to the main food, the Burgundy roast with red cabbage and lumps. Wasn't bad,but the portion was already manageable and I've already eaten better. Benefit for the portions, we could eat another dessert. Man ordered the hazelnut caramel brownie with toffee ice cream on caramel sauce. Refined with caramelized hazelnuts, to 7.90. That was for men. He tasted very good. I tried. Brownie would have been too sweet to me, but right for men. I chose the Hollunder Walnut Pancake, with vanilla ice cream and hot forest berries, to 7.90 euros. It was really good. The ice was in the pancake. So the dessert was the best. Now that we were saturated, we were discussing the bill. The operation ran 15 minutes everywhere, looked at us, made everything possible, only the invoice had to wait. It was only when I made a comment to the couple at the side table, that I heard it was called. At least she apologized. She seemed slightly overwhelmed. I think that the beer garden was well filled and, as far as I have come, the only one that took orders and brought the bills. Conclusion : The ambience is very appealing outside, the food is good, but no longer na and to the service I write nix more. We will not return there"

"In 2015, my husband and I visited the “Wohlfühlhotel Michels” for lunch. We felt very comfortable and also lunch tasted very good. We tried to book the Michels spontaneously a few times in the meantime – but it was always booked out in the short term. My aunt came to an open ear with the proposal to spend our planned "family time" in the Michels with an overnight stay. And nicely, this was the invitation of the aunt to her and my corona-related “lost” birthday. And my brother was also allowed to go. We bridged the time with a nice walk around the maar and a shared lunch in the place. In the afternoon our beautiful and spacious rooms were finished with a balcony and we were allowed to check in with routined ladies. My aunt and I met little later in the beautiful garden area with (to) small indoor and outdoor pools. Outdoor Outdoor loungers were not easy to find, the “towel reservationers” are simply everywhere. Gentlemen stopped a nap. On time for dinner we found ourselves in the beautiful and pleasantly divided restaurant area. A service lady received us and brought us to our reserved table with the hint that this is also our breakfast table. She was gone. The menu of our evening feel-good menu (for reading please click) was already at the table. Why a rather late morning menu was offered here in July, I'm completely obscure. The autumn menu and we sat there. Very many guests were not yet in the restaurant, service staff were constantly seeing and seemed not too little. After 30 minutes we were finally allowed to give up our drinks order. Winzersekt zum Aperitif and two bottles of mineral water. I was very thirsty, over the afternoon the supply of liquid had been significantly too short. That's what I said to the serviceman. After another quarter of an hour, a young employee served our champagne. Not suitable for thirst distillation and I asked for the mineral water. The answer was right: “I couldn’t carry it too.” Sorry. In the meantime, I was thinking of looking for a tap, I would have done better. Because the waiting time for the mineral water lasted again. We gave up our menu requests. Salad, soup and dessert were set by the kitchen. Only at the main course were four dishes available. At the appetizer salad, my husband and I order the bacon. For dinner we chose a bottle of 2020 Grauburgunder, trocken, Weingut Frieden-Berg, Nittel (Mosel) to € 19,90 0.75 l. There were served two kinds of ordinary baguette and butter seasoned butter. The duck was gently swollen, this was to be seen and my aunt also praised the meat. There are a couple of small tubes and the fried claws. My husband, my brother and I chose the only not quite so autumnal dish: roasted noble fish with chimichurri and Mediterranean vegetable potato marsh. The first time, since the end of the lockdown, that so no joy or openness came to us guests. We tried with a few friendly sayings, unfortunately there was nothing to do. So this dish was also served and we asked what was hidden among the announced noble fish: salmon, nautical and butter mackerel. Not the mariners that I would call noble fish. Expectations were also more likely to be met by seaweed, seaweed, stone butter... And unfortunately only the piece of buttermackers could score with juice. The salmon fillet still went, the nautical was dead. For this, coarse potato stump without vegetables. The vegetable supplement is more of a finely diced ratatouille. The gang was just prepared and kept warm. Chimichurri, the Argentine sauce, did not fit me with Mediterranean vegetables. It was my first chimichurri, but I would have imagined it more spicy. I would have been interested to see if the 3 different potato supplements were made from the same potato base. The waiting time for the dessert then actually a little longer. The best course of the evening was served. A successful caramel crème brûlée. To this end, slightly caramelized, still bite-resistant apricot columns. For me again the confirmation: half board is kitchen-friendly but not guest-oriented. One-liter family conclusion: The day before, it tasted better at Hotel Schneider on Maar. It took us to the fresh air. In the beautiful garden area there was now a free place to find. Fresh air in the evening And a very nice, attentive Mr. Müller who finally offered us the feel-good factor in the wellness hotel. He even brought another tablecloth for our table. We ordered the Grauburgunder which we had already drank to the menu. He had met our taste. A digestif and espresso. Mr. MÃ1⁄4ller worries us with the best mood and also gave wine. Maybe it was because he was allowed to work on the fresh air? Anyway, he saves the service points. Just for breakfast the next morning. The rich breakfast buffet went through several rooms. Possibly to create a little more space for the guests due to corona. Nevertheless, it was quite a mess until you had his breakfast at the table. Filter coffee was served at the table. At the hot drink machine, the guests stood in line, so I forgot a tea. Unique family breakfast: On the day before we enjoyed the Hotel Schneider on Maar."
