"This has seriously been the worst service I've received in years .i was greeted by a young girl whom hadn't a clue what was going on .she wasnt able to allocate us a seat so we just sat at the nearest table .we ordered a bottle of wine and she promptly took payment .lots of tables with no drinks on .people walking out as waiting too long .4 staff all milling around doing nothing .waited 20 mins for our drinks so decided to go to the bar and ask “.yes they will be with you shortly “ 10 minutes later they arrived so half an hours wait for a bottle of wine .abs ridiculous .there is abs NO customer service .the only quick service was when they took payment!!!! Its being run by collage kids but it needs someone in there to organise the staff .such a shame as the decor is lovely but customer service has to come first .always greet and acknowledge your customers .very important ."

"The farm never fails to hit the spot. It was a pleasure to be back. The outside and inside areas are beautiful. The staff are so great and a credit to you. The social distancing measures work well and were unintrusive. The food is always the star of the show here and I was so excited when it arrived because I knew it would be deliscious and it looked gorgeous too. My rib eye was cooked to perfection and my friends miso cod was stunning, so much flavour! Hats off to the chef s Lots of variety on the menu for dishes without meat. We will be back again and again and again! This place rocks!"

"We was staying in the adjoining hotel and it was very convenient to have the Beefeater to dine at, staff on arrival was friendly and seated us in a nice area with a choice of a few tables, The atmosphere was lovely just the right level of music and it was cosy too, love the open planned layout too very nice. Our server was Olivia and she was lovely, very attentive and was so calm and friendly throughout the evening even tho it was busy she never rushed anyone and had time for each table, The food was well presented and very tasty, worth its money, very giid size tooit was definitely value for money, one starter 2 mains and 3 drinks i think £54 was a reasonable price."

"Decided to try the Greswold Arms for a meal today. NEVER AGAIN! The place was very quiet so can't blame the poor service and quality of the food on pressures of the day. The sea bass was very poor in quality and portion size for £17.99. My friends meal was also sub standard. The whole experience was very very disappointing to say the least and the customer service was very poor. Definitely won't be back and would not recommend to any of my friends and family."

"I arrived at Prezzo around 7pm for dinner and had an amazing experience. Kas, our server, was a gem who kept my kids happy and entertained throughout the meal. He made little jokes like promising ice cream if they finished their food, and they loved it. They even asked to say goodbye to him before we left. Kas gave them a fist bump, pretended to be in pain from it, and my kids thought it was hilarious. We can't wait to come back as a family again. Kas, you should be on TV - thank you for a memorable first visit to Prezzo in Shirley!"

"I'm disappointed to say that since the renovation, we have visited the Knowle Toby three times. The last visit was the worst. Upon entering, we had to wait to be seated. Last Saturday, we waited over 10 minutes to be seated. There was only one person looking after the tables. After waiting for about 15 minutes, I had to ask if we could go straight up to get our food. It was then that they took our drink order. The carvery area was not clearly marked, and some people were going through the exit instead of the entrance. The quality of the food has been decreasing, and the amount of meat served is inconsistent. When we returned to our table, we found that the food was lukewarm. We are not ones to complain in order to get a free meal. I find it unprofessional for employees to talk about work while guests are eating. It took a long time and a second request to receive the bill after we had asked for it."

"Booked a table after reading the great reviews on here it did not disappoint. Very friendly staff who were very chatty and attentive and made you feel welcome and at ease made you feel like you were regular customers. Nicely decorated and clean restaurant. Just had poppadoms and condiments to start and then main course both ordered from the Brasseries recommend section a chicken dish and lamb shank both were delicious and big portions as well that we couldn't finish so took back to our hotel. If visiting this area again would definitely go back for another visit. Highly recommended"

"Last night was amazing! From the moment we walked in to when we left, Akki and the team were extremely attentive. Even though my boys are only 10 and 6, they have big appetites like me. We started with two platters to share - one with fish and one with meat (samundar and rajasthani, I believe), as well as a serving of Garlic Lemon King Prawns (my wife particularly enjoyed these). For main course, we couldn't resist getting the family naan (garlic, chilli and coriander), which was huge! We followed recommendations and were blown away by the delicious flavors. The smells coming from the kitchen were tantalizing. We enjoyed dishes like Labadar, Chicken Jordi, Goa Garlic King Prawns, Salmon Delight, and an Aroma Mix Grill, with sides of Peshwari Rice, Pilau Rice, Tarka Dall, and Saag Bajee. For dessert, we indulged in Mango Kulfi, The Coconut Supreme, Latte, and Espresso. The coffee was exceptional, even better than most coffee shops! Thank you so much, Akki, for making it a perfect night. We will definitely be back soon."

"Disgusting! Been a customer for years. Ordered takeaway, asked twice on the phone if the driver accepted a card machine as it stated on website. Tony has never accepted card over the phone as it costs the business. Old fashioned, but asked to clarify the website comment.He said yes. Driver turned up, no card machine. Inconvenience, I asked to pay over the phone. No. Ok, as you know me can I come in at my inconvenience ! pay you tomorrow . No. Took the food back. Waste of food. Disgraceful. You do not deserve customers let alone loyal ones ! Hope you are happy with being proud of wasting food disappointing a loyal customer. "Bought an afternoon tea for two for my mother in law for Christmas. The voucher is valid until November this year. As she has a heart condition and is very worried about visiting anywhere I contacted the restaurant to explain and see if, like all other places I know, they are extending their vouchers by the length of time they have been closed as I was concerned she was not going to be well enough in time and was unable to use her voucher when she was well. I was told the only vouchers that are being extended are those that expired during lockdown. I explained once again and asked if they could escalate it to the manager who simply said she can have a take away afternoon tea. I explained it was booked so she could experience the full afternoon tea in a lovely room and was told they are only extending vouchers that expire up to September (contradicting what they said before). I explained again why and they still simply do not care. The manager even replied let me know the date you want to come and I will book you in, clearly ignoring the fact that I wrote and said she had a heart condition and could not come. I only get a reply when I’ve chased them too, that’s locally and the Head Office. It’s the first time I’ve bought a Laura Ashley voucher and will be my last. I bought it believing there would be great service there. If dealing with them on this is anything to go by the service will be very lacking"

"TERRIBLE! Went for a family meal with the family service was horrible and place is filthy. So much wrong with the place no idea how it’s still open! Food quality was so horrible ! Toilets do not flush and so disgusting. Asked for multiple things on the menu and they did not have in the end we ended up sharing 3 cans of sprite between 7 people! I feel so sick that places like this are open in the UK! They need a visit by a health and safety officer ASAP! After asking multiple times for basics the attitude changed as we did ask them to tell us before we placed our mains If there is certain things missing from the menu. We were rest assured everything is available then when we went to order we were told they didn’t have most of what we wanted! So frustrating and then the guy serving gave us attitude!! Find it strange how it’s cash only in this day and age! So we have to go get cash out and truthfully don’t rate anything thought out the evening. Overall do not visit the standard is very poor!!! Be warned!"

"Excellent service at the bar from Oscar. Landlord was well kept and clearly wasn't the only one as the other ales looked good. Food came out quickly, piping hot and couldn't fault it. Very reasonable price and portions. Atmosphere was great, lovely and warm inside and the fires were lit and looked great. Could probably do with a lick if paint in some areas but doesn't detract from the experience. Manager Jim was back and forth taking food but stopped to talk when we asked him some questions. Definitely coming back"

The behaviour of your table was nothing short of disgusting, and for you to try and make out it was anything else is just ridiculous. How the management and staff dealt with it so calmly I don't know and rest assured ourselves and other customers around us had nothing but praise for the pub, and utter contempt for your behaviour. If my husband or partner behaved like that I would be mortified, not try and stick up for him publicly. Saracens Head well done. You will be seeing us again now we know we will not have the mis fortune of seeing this family in there again."

"This Shirley Spice is really poor and quality of food is so bad that when I told the manager that the food is off , and also it stinks. I was told that I must not complain about this curry and his staff was very intimidating and rude after long argument I was able get the refund. Thank God. ...I did not eat it only the foul smell suggested I must not consume the food. "3 rd visit to this restaurant with the current owners. Both previous times very good attentive service and excellent food. However on this occasion although food excellent as always the service was far worse . Restaurant was very busy with a one large party. Order was taken promptly and although there was a longer wait for food I could understand that. However after the plates were cleared I was expecting to be offered face wipes not offered! Also no one asked if we would like any dessert or coffee! One person behind the counter seemed more interested in chatting to a pair of dubious looking guys who were drinking at the bar. Customer service was not great and eventually managed to pay the bill and left. I’m afraid that I am not planning to return based upon the customer service on this occasion and would certainly not recommend it to anyone. Sad really as the food was excellent!"

"the first time I can do everything today is wow! what an amazing environment for a country pub, one of the best. also the menu offers each from pub classics to homemade selection even curry’s, they call it they have it. I chose homemade steak-ale and mushroom-pis, which was one of the best I tried and my wife had sampi that they really enjoyed. the staff is super friendly, even the poor girl who suffered with a bit of a pain was happy to chat with us. highly recommended and will return 100% here."

"A few years ago, we had a great experience at this restaurant with fresh pies and excellent service. However, my recent visit was disappointing, as the food seemed to be reheated and old. The soups were cold and had to be sent back, and even the pies were so tough that we couldn't cut through them with a knife. The steaks were also difficult to chew and overall, the food was inedible. It's unfortunate to see such a decline in quality, and as much as we were looking forward to returning, we will have to pass on coming back in the future."

"Great value for money, very tasty food, basic menu, but service was very good, staff lovely. First time visiting 30/08/24, wanted something quick to eat as a couple. The menu wasn't extensive and was only printed on a bit of paper so didn't go into great detail about eh dishes, but what we had was freshly cooked, piping hot and food sized portion and tastes great. The cost was really good, service couldn't be faulted, great for an informal meal with good value for money."

"All I have to say- they serve quite an average Indian food to be favorable enough for English people. No issues with that! However we being indians known what our different cuisines and food taste like! For example bhuna curry is mostly spicy and with loads of flavour, however the bhuna chicken curry here was sweet even though we made it clear that we don't want sweet tasting curry. And chicken tikka biryani is not even biryani, its chicken pulaow! (Fried rice) Overall very average indian restaurant. The food looks great though and service is good too.
