"Fondue in a typical Helvetic restaurant. I was sitting outside next to the fountain and atmosphere it was nice. I ordered mixed cheese fondue. Presentation it's nice. I thought ( as foreigner) that was coming different flavored stiles of bread, or nice garnished but it wasn't. So it's nice but definitely it's massive for one portion and one person and it can result nauseous after a while as there isn't variety. I will go back to Fondue Beizli but i will order others dishes. My suggestion to owner to prepare also half portion for solo travelers and improve the garnishing/ bread stiles"

"On the recommendation of a good friend, the four of us went there for dinner on a Friday evening. The restaurant has a very homely atmosphere and we immediately felt at home. The order was taken very quickly and we got our drinks quickly. For starters, our friends had Calmaris rings and Nüssli salad. We tried the Calmaris and although my girlfriend and I are not usually Calmaris lovers, we both had to admit that the Calmaris were phenomenally good. For the main course there were 2 different pasta dishes and one Parma and one Funghi pizza. We didn't try the pasta dishes but they looked very tasty, which was also confirmed by our friends. Our pizzas were excellent, the dough tasted excellent and the Parma ham was top notch. My friend's Funghi pizza was also very tasty. When folded in the hand, the pizza stayed straight, which indicates good dough. We had the restaurant's house wine, which is specially made by a winemaker friend of the owner's family. This was exceptionally good and can only be warmly recommended. Rarely have I had such good wine with pizza as I did there. Aber leider war beim Pflaumenkuchen gerade mal (maximal) eine Pflaume auf dem ganzen Stück so verteilt, dass man nur noch von pfaumenparfumiertem trockenen Streuselkuchen sprechen kann. Der Kuchen meiner Partnerin war etwas besser, aber auch nicht wirklich gut. Einzig der Kaffee hatte ein spezielles, exquisites Aroma und auch der Service war nett, deshalb noch zwei Punkte. Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ungenügend."

"After an all day hike in the surrounding countryside we ended up at this microbrewery, restaurant and bar, which belongs to the Schützengarten brewery of St.Gallen. Located on Bahnhofstrasse near the railway station it offers outdoor seating, but more atmosphere has its rustic interior with the brew kettles at the back and some smaller rooms. We sat at a table for two near the bar and since we already had drunk our Schützengarten beer at an other place, we asked for wine. They indicate the price for 1dl, but one can have any amount or the whole bottle. Our choice was a Pinot Noir from Malans in the Grisons. To eat we asked for the most famous local speciality, a 'St.Gallen Olma Bratwurst ', which gets served here with seasonal vegetables and 'Huuspommes ' (thus 'house fries ' . It was excellent. When the waiter asked, if we wanted ketchup with it, I declined and said that we don 't want mustard either, which made him smile. This sausage gets eaten all over Switzerland mostly with mustard, but at its place of origin, this is considered a culinary sin. The Olma-Bratwurst differs from the regular St.Galler Bratwurst only in size (160 instead of 110gr . "This Monday I had Piccata Milanese. Basically we go to La Bocca once a week because the food and the service there are top notch except for one service lady. However, the food wasn't as usual that day. The meat was OK, but the noodles had probably been heated in the pan and had become partly dry and were not of the usual quality. After I had eaten about half of the meat and about 20% of the noodles, I was too stupid to chew on the hard and cold noodles and had the plate discarded. When I paid, the entire 19.90 CHF was charged. When I asked if I had to pay the whole thing, I was told, yes. I then asked the boss if he was serious! He insisted on collecting the whole price even though almost half was returned and the noodles were very bad. I would have gladly paid 15CHF and everything would have been fine. But no, it had to be 19.90. I assume that he is doing too well and that money is more important to him than satisfied customers. Now I won't visit this restaurant again, it's actually a shame because the service staff is 75% op. Unfortunately, everything is rated 1 star because of the owner, even though the food was ok and the service was top!"
