"Had a wonderful lunch at Oaklands Hall. Entertainment was provided by the lovely Natalie Cuifo (aka Ain’t Misbehavin’ The meal was scrumptious and a cut above. Where else can you get Monkfish and Thai crab cakes, on a February Sunday in Hyde? The meal was finished off with a super delicious lemon cheesecake, cheese and biscuits and coffee. We were well looked after with table service from the staff who I cannot praise too highly and led by Liv, front of house . I don t know how they do it for the money . The venue is highly appointed and we were treated like Royalty. I asked for a table near the talented Natalie and we were given a “killer position” right at the front . We were presented with a rose too which together with the complimentary chocolates was a nice touch for Valentines. Ain t misbehavin’ performed three sets and had chosen what seemed like the sound track to our life. Her pitch perfect singing voice is a given these days but with her mesmerising dance moves Natalie tells a story. She is of part Italian heritage and she uses the shaping of her hands in her performance to enhance the lyrics drawing you into the storyline. Her natural beauty is enhanced by some very impressive dresses . As it was a Valentine’s event the theme was love but she mixed it up with some high energy interpretations of some classic favourites enchanting her audience who were in raptures by the third set. We ve seen Natalie three times now and each show has been an individual performance. She surprised us today with an enchanting Scottish ballad. We spent 3 hours over an excellent lunch and enjoyed ourselves immensely. We are so proud of Natalie and feel so lucky we can see her in our own neighbourhood. She has a growing following so if you get the chance to see and hear this young talent go for it. Her act will stay with you long time . Thank you Oaklands Hall for booking her for your excellent venue."

"I visited this restaurant recently and opted for the Set Meal for 3. Unfortunately, it included only 2 prawns and 2 mussels in their shells, and there wasn’t a substantial amount of chicken in the other dishes. While the ambience and service were excellent, I found the quantity of food to be lacking. Overall, I would rate the food a 3, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 4."

"I have been coming to El Sapo for many years bringing family, friends and groups for special occasions, sometimes last minute but Geraldine always manages to squeeze me in. The staff here are very friendly and welcoming and know many of their customers by name. I brought my friend as a birthday treat this evening and she told me she'd actually been at weekend with her family but was still wanting to go again as she loved it. The sangria is very moreish and I have been known to have a full jug to myself.... The food is always in my experiences great value, delicious and plentiful whether it's the banquet, main menu or Thursday special 2 for 1. My friends and I have eaten out at many restaurants including some where it is clear you are just paying for the name El Sapo is my favourite go to for the relaxed atmosphere (you can talk and hear each other), helpful staff and lovely comforting food. I will be back again and again"

"Just like to begin and say I’m new to tripadvisor, after visiting this restaurant last night I had to share my pleasant experience with you all. Excellent food and fantastic service. When we arrived at the restaurant we were pleasantly greeted at reception and taken to the table by our waiter. Would like to say really like the fact that you are assigned one waiter and they follow through with bringing your popadomms, drinks, taking your order all the way through to bringing you bill at the end of the evening. When out for a relaxing evening no-one likes being swamped by many different staff members coming over all the time and intruding like I’ve experienced in other local establishments. Our waiter was very pleasant and polite and always on hand to deal with our requests and take drinks orders etc. Think his name was Adeed. Also this place is very child friendly as I could see from another table and wouldn’t hesitate in bringing my kids here. Maybe for the Sunday buffet! Overall, really enjoyed the experience and will definitely be returning. Keep up the good work Indian Ocean and would love to see more young charismatic staff."

"Second visit in the last two months. Fantastic and authentic cuisine. Very passionate chef. Tells you all about the dishes. How they were made where they originate from. Listens to customers and will add things to the menu. Dipping sauce with dough balls and a delicious plumb tart. Can’t wait to go again. Mouthwatering. Definitely worth a visit."

"I normally do not leave reviews for pub food in the area, but I believe it is customary to check in once a meal is served to ensure everything is okay. Unfortunately, this place did not seem to receive that memo. We went for Sunday lunch with low expectations, hoping for at least an edible roast dinner. However, the carrots and mashed potatoes were served ice cold. When we asked for more to be brought out, we were told they did not have enough but could warm up ours (without an apology). Since the food was already on our plates with gravy, we declined the offer. Eventually, more carrots were brought out when we had almost finished our meal, but to our surprise, only the carrots were hot. Despite this, no one came to check if our food was okay. We paid our bill and left, only for my wife to provide some feedback later. Instead of acknowledging the issue, we were called liars and accused of trying to get a free meal, even though we had already paid in full. The lack of manners, accusations of lying, cold food, and overall bad attitude make it a risky choice to eat here. I recommend locals steer clear of this establishment, and anyone else for that matter."

"Shocking service. Not up to the usual standard on the buffet bar. we arrive with one young woman serving at the bar and one person waiting. We waited our turn and were completely ignored and she served someone else first. At this point we were irritated but we waited until she served these gents. At that point a man came from the kitchen and asked who 's next. Started to serve another customer before corrected by the woman server and came to us. We at this point started it was actually our go before these guys only for the woman to lie and said 'i asked who was next ' which she never did. I thought we should try and support here since the railways shut but after this service and I 'm not sure we will be returning again. It has left a real sour taste in are mouth."

"great food! No mummicks. when entering it does not look as much as compared to other local restaurants. it's quite small and you could say that the decor is maybe dated. but if they sit down, they realize that the facility added to us feel like we really were in a small restaurant in italy. also the personal and the atmosphere created there were fantastic. for an hour we really felt like on holiday in italien, in a small caffe on a side street. la lupa doesn't try to be everything it isn't. perfect authentic Italian cuisine and it was delicious. in any case it will make our regular weekend. very fair. brilliant."

"I arrived at the restaurant and found the car park was full, so I had to park across the road and walk over. There were four people smoking at the entrance, so I had to walk through the smoke. Once inside, the restaurant looked nice and spacious. I placed my order, but halfway through the lady at the till took a phone call. When I sat down, the table was not clean. I waited 8 minutes and 25 seconds for my food, which was reasonable. The server was friendly. The food was delicious, but at £13.50, I thought it was a bit pricey. Overall, it was a good experience, but I probably won't return due to the high prices."

"We knew it would be busy at Lymefield garden centre as they were serving Christmas lunch. Two drop ins were just being turned away at the entrance with very long faces because they forgot to book. (Rookie mistake) our table was waiting for us and we were greeted by the smiling face of Gemma who served us. Now I believe good service is second only to the food in the enjoyment of a meal. Every detail was perfect and I know about these things. At times it seemed a long wait to place our order, ask for something or enquire about the menu but I only had to look up and she was there. It’s not like the staff were nt busy as there was a table of 23 they were looking after. Little touches like being asked what kind of glass we wanted with our drinks is something of a bygone age. You d have to dine at the Ritz to get better service. At one point she was busy with the long table and I thought uh! She’s took her eye off the ball but Yvonne her team mate turned up as if to read my mind with my bowl of steaming rice pudding with winter fruits. Perfect for the coldest day of the year so far. Team work makes the dream work at Lymefield. It was a dream there yesterday. It’s in the most glorious setting . Surrounded by frosted fields the view was like the Christmas cards I d written that morning. My final word must go to the shop. The produce is farm fresh and I am particularly satisfied with the local Alma Bridge honey I purchased . It’s the finest I ve tasted. The clientele are mostly of retirement age as you d expect in the middle of the working week. I don t consider myself old but I am old school and Lymefield is the perfect way to get the seasonal celebrations started."

"we visited the afternoon so that I only saw the brunch menu that consisted of a full-day vegan breakfast and a special (soup.) I went for the breakfast consisting of sausage, toast (with vegan margarine,) mushrooms, tomatoes, borons, avocado and my special highlight kartoffel hasch. the breakfast is offered with a cup of tea at a heel milk without a price. overall a really fantastic little caffe and I look forward to tasting the dinner menu that apparently includes pizza! updated by the previous review on 2021 11 08"

"For my daughter’s birthday she chose to have breakfast with family and friends at Frankie and Benny’s and we were really well looked after. There is free parking here and it is adjacent to the restaurant which is on the perimeter of Crown Point North shopping centre. We received a warm welcome and a table for ten was waiting for us. Everywhere was clean and tidy and the atmosphere was good. Ellis was our waiter and he was courteous, polite and friendly for the duration of our visit. I felt that they could have benefitted from more resources at times, as the restaurant got busy at one point and Ellis and his manager seemed under pressure. But the food arrived in decent time and was all delicious. Drinks were sometimes a little slow arriving but we were kept informed. The vegan and vegetarian fry ups were lovely. Ellis kindly brought out a birthday cake for my daughter and allowed us to use ten plates and forks which was appreciated. All in all we spent two hours in the restaurant, we felt looked after and everyone enjoyed their breakfast."

"Awful from start to finish. Food was horrible was in there over 2.5 hours service was slow. Would not recommend Sunday lunch now they have changed it from a carvery. Starters tiny desserts poor choice and Sunday lunch inedible. Had to wait on several occasions for them to put enough starters out and desserts. We were a party of 9 and 4 meals came out 20 mins later than everyone else’s. Food items missing from most people’s meals. Waitress was very apologetic and so was the manager and we didn’t pay for the meal. Was for my husbands birthday which was ruined. Very disappointed and won’t be returning unfortunately and we have been numerous times in the past and loved it!"

"we were hungry and saw this place, we stopped and we are so glad that we did. the food was absolutely delicious. we had steak ale and mushroom cake, which was served either with fat chips or thin chips, gravy and mushy heapsen. every article was served in his own pot, which was great for me, as I don't like to inherit. there was nothing to blame for the meal. we have lemon and honey cheese cake for aftercare, wow it was beautiful, the basic was made from a mix of ginger biscuits and hobbys made it so good. the young lady who served us was very friendly. I recommend a visit here, we will go back soon"

"Revisited for a Sunday roast the meats looked pretty dry. More than half the turkey seemed to have gone, as well as part of the beef a little odd when we were there when the lunch service started at 11.45. How long have the meats been there where did they go? We opted for the gammon which looked the most decent. The portion of meat was small; it tasted OK but was a tad salty. There was a selection of lukewarm veg, some of which were undercooked (like the carrots) some were overcooked (like the green beans which were too soft). We were glad there were parsnips on offer did like the purple cabbage as it was something different from the regular veg selection. The Yorkshire pudding was light crisp as well, which was good. Overall, it was an unremarkable visit but we are glad we got a roast dinner fix."

"Excellent food, huge selection, very reasonably priced. My sister rated her garlic naan as the best she'd ever had. All the Sizzlung Grill dishes were delicious. My Bombay Special Lamb had plenty of tender, well cooked lamb and was fantastic! The portions were generous two of our group took home doggy bags! The waiting staff were helpful and courteous. And they didn't hover or pester! They took photos for us when we asked we were celebrating a family birthday. The restaurant itself had plenty of room in the car park, and inside was spotless and attractively decorated. Great disabled access and loos! (Very important for 2 of our party! Would highly recommend. A little gem of a place!"

"A football game at the Etihad brought to this Indian in Stalybridge. It's location at the end of a shopping precinct was strange as was the dark (early evening) interior which was mostly empty. We were put right at the back where the poor lighting made it even darker. Service by a single gentlemen was efficient but not particularly personable. The food started well and we were given ample amounts of dip to accompany our poppadums. The curries however were a little disappointing. My son and I ordered very different curries but they looked and tasted very similar. My Jaipur dish was dominated by red peppers there was no mention of them in the menu description! The long and sometimes tough slivers of chicken tikka were also not too our liking. The food was relatively cheap but we have had much better in many other Indian establishments. As we left at 7.30pm on a Saturday evening the restaurant was still very empty........I wonder why?!"

"4 of us went here for a meal and night out as there was a singer guitarist on. 2nd visit of the year, staff very pleasant and friendly. We had the rib eye rossini steaks. Very tasty, medley of veg was superbly cooked, The steaks were a little over done i asked for medium and it was well done. Its so hard to get steaks right.. some one will, complain its under done others over done.. Still enjoyed it though, One of the party had fish and chips, the fish was big and he really enjoyed. The selection of beers is excellent. Spoilt for choice. We moved to the other room for the entertainment. Stayed all night and had a hangover the next day. Must have been good ! Will return."

"My friend and I were out walking around Debdale Reservoirs and up near the Donkey Sanctuary and fancied a drink and a light lunch. As my friend had her dog with her we needed somewhere that was dog friendly. Sadly the nearest gastro pub was not, and it was too cold to sit outside, so we carried on walking until we came to the Sheldon Arms. I popped in to ask and was shown the dog friendly area of the restaurant where there was a tiled floor, perfect! We chose to have soup and fresh bread and the carrot and coriander soup was delicious. We saw the carvery whilst we were in there and that looked amazing, but we just wanted a light lunch. It was a warm retreat on a cold day and the manager and bar man were very friendly. Before we left my friend’s little doggie had a bowl of water too! Lovely food and great service, will definitely visit again."
