"I have been to Several Hive multiple times and have always had a fantastic experience. Most recently, I tried their amazing Christmas afternoon tea. They offer a wide variety of well-made and delicious items, with unique options like soup, sausage rolls, cranberry sliders, mini Eton mess, and Ferrero Rocher brownies instead of the typical cucumber sandwiches. The service was polite and attentive. I am looking forward to going back again soon."

"For avoidance of doubt this isn’t a restaurant, it’s a stall with a couple of benches. Stopped for a seafood snack about midday after visiting the Turner. Disappointed that no oysters, even though the boards advertising “oysters and bubbles” were still prominently displayed. Settled for a tub of cockles instead, and they tasted great, but really not a substitute for oysters. Slightly off putting remarks from one of the three rather underemployed women in the stall she didn’t offer a card machine but waited while I found some cash, then commented “yes, people are using cash more now COVID has gone” (it hasn’t, of course, but her attitude didn’t seem out of kilter with how we had observed locals behaving)."
"Great little cafe on the highstreet. Not many tables and that makes it feel cosy and comfortable. Our server was excellent, the build your own breakfast was amazing, and the chatter was just right. Felt a little like like having breakfast with friends. Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: £1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"Having visited Secret Spices on a few occasions now, I find myself finding an excuse to travel all the way from Dover, to Margate just to indulge in their delicious, great value food! Upon each visit, the restaurant has not been particularly busy perhaps this is helped by me visiting during the week, rather than on the busier days such as Fridays and Saturdays. The food however has always been absolutely top notch. I've had Indian cuisine from restaurants and takeaways from around the world and I truly believe that the quality and flavour produced at this outlet really does surpass many others that I have tried, certainly, the best I have had here in the UK. The restaurant setting is classy and easy on the eye, the seating a little worn, but very comfortable, the service very attentive, the food DELICIOUS. I always look forward to making another visit to Secret Spices, thank you for your great Restaurant! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"Popped in for a drink before heading off for our meal. The lady that served us was very pleasant and served with a smile. Options on tap were varied altho my friends had the ale I wanted a shandy and the lady gave me options of lager. Nice atmosphere. Hadn't been here in years since we used to visit to see Blow the Duo. TV screens were on but not obtrusive. Plenty if good seating including sone lovely looking booths. Really nice bar."

"Having been raised at the knees of Caribbean and African women, sometimes I’m just in need of some soul food. I’ve often gone past Mullins and seen that it is busy, and looks bright, clean, warm and friendly. And it is. The decor works really well. Low-key, warm and welcoming. Music is a soothing stream of lilting Caribbean classics. The waiting staff are lovely. So friendly. And the menu looks great. There isn’t too much of it, and it is quite hard to choose because it all sounds amazing. Price points are really good. But. The food is genuinely terrible. I went for a Creole fish stew. I don’t know how you can make a stew without flavour. When you are cooking things slowly and together, flavour infuses flavour. But not here. This was a good sized portion of piping hot well presented food. But my God it tasted awful. Basically chopped potato surrounded by small lumps of bland unidentifiable white fish, half a dozen mussels, some of which were still closed, and therefore inedible, and three flavourless prawns in shells. There was a pinch of Samphire on the top, and this was the sum total of the vegetables I could find. It came in what I can only describe as a thick red sauce. If there was tomato in it, there was no flavour to it. It was highly salty, and this was the dominant flavour throughout. The fish had no flavour of fish, and it was intensely spiced in a lip plumping way. Essentially, it was all heat and salt. With a slight tang of gents toilets. I suspect this was from the mussels. I did raise the blandness twice with the waiter, and the strange unpleasant toilet flavour. He said he would tell chef. And that was that. No feedback on the dreadful flavour other than that it was all fresh. I ate the entirety of the meal because I had travelled a long way and had not eaten. I saw it simply as fuel. It was not enjoyable. I paid and left. Mullins is so close to getting everything right, but a restaurant is its food. I’m not going back."

"I visited the Greek arch recently with my wife and sister dining in for our evening meal. Second visit to this place after a previously good experience. We came away very disappointed, the food was reheated and the chicken kebabs were dry and tough, my kleftico was the fattiest I've ever encountered! The young waiter cleared our plates while my wife was still eating, and later went to the toilet (door straight from the dining area) and did not wash his hands as the hand dryer wasn't used. The owner seemed to want us out and we felt rushed. Last straw, when we got home realised we'd been overcharged £5 for a drink we didn't have. In fairness to the owner our previous visit in high season was good but this visit it was appalling. Make your own minds up."

"Their food may well be amazing but unfortunately I find their social media bullying simply unacceptable. To go from reading an innocent and obviously misinferred comment to launching into a tirade of abuse towards that person, saying that persons profile 'cracked me up ', and inferring that the whole restaurant is laughing at that person seems pretty low indeed! Wouldn 't a simple old fashioned sorry you missed us, here 's a link to our opening times and we look forward to welcoming you soon have sufficed? Their fish may be ethically sourced but their 'banter ' certainly isn 't."

"We visited Chatham House Old Boys for our Annual Christmas get together on Friday. It was a great night with delicious food and a fantastic atmosphere that really put us in the Christmas spirit. The DJ played a mix of dance floor fillers and Christmas songs that had us singing along. Andrew’s great food, amazing service from Heidi, Alex and the team behind the bar, and Giorgio’s gigolo Theo all added to the experience. If you can find a spot, make sure to book a table here!"

"I have been going to my grandad's restaurant for years and it is absolutely incredible. The food is all prepared with love and care, and the service is top-notch. The vegetarian options and dietary restrictions are good, and there is ample parking available locally. The restaurant is very kid-friendly and wheelchair accessible. Overall, it is the best restaurant you could ever visit."

"it seemed as though margate was still firmly attached to board and was locked for the winter when we visited a sunny day of February from london before some weeks ago. so it was a bit about finding somewhere that a bit more tasty...as bog standard fish and chips on the empty beach or greasy kebab from the takeouts, the marine parade. we tried the caffe in turner contemporary, but it has not been called. we came to the happiness about the cozy little cafe called "the greedy cow cafe" on the small market place in the old town, opposite the margate museum. the caffe is located in one of the quirky old buildings of the old city. the building is a bit old-worldly wondered. the interior decor is decided vintage, quite shameful chic, but very clean and very appealing, especially for the arty-farty quantity. we were warmly welcomed and have made our way to the small dining room above, already filled with diners. the seats are located on the tables in the trestle style; we had a great place on the window with views of the small square and the museum. the only seat in the ground floor is located outside the small square. it's the food that grabs a hit here. the lunch menu is kreatiw, innovatiw and really interesting. everything speaks of taste and freshness; everything pays attention to detail and attention. it's far from the usual farewell here. there is a good selection of dresses, including burger, and an extensive menu for children. there is also a rather exotic breakfast card. no “Full English” here; think “Banana and pistachio Toastie” or “Bacon and guacamole Bun”. there are many options for vegans. our meals were the falafel and the beetroot hummus and the pulled pork. both were delicious. the spiced criminal falcon was accompanied by rose water urissa, beetroot hummus, and a tomato bevel and gurkensalat on a bed of couscous; it was served with the liders of the sourdough. the pulled pork dish was a roasted brioche book with juicy roasted shoulder of pork, dressed with homemade BBQ sauce and a celery tail. we enjoyed our meal very much. the portions were abundant. AtWe’ve certainly put it on our radar, and will see again as soon as the possibilities allow."

"A really good find for vegetarians with clearly marked options. The name of this restaurant is apt as its all about the flavours with Chef Kumar bringing cuisine from different parts of the Indian sub-continent. The vegetarian interim courses were a welcome surprise and it was interesting to be able to see the kitchen at work from where we were sitting all remarkably calm in such a busy restaurant. The staff were efficient and friendly. The restaurant itself seems to be set in an old pub and had a very good atmosphere on the night we visited. Special mention for the Gobi Kempu and the Punjabi Dall Tadka but all the vegetarian options we selected were amazing."

"A group of unfriendly women "greeted" my daughter and me with sour faces. It seemed like no one knew their role, leading to a chaotic and unpleasant interaction. At one point, the card machine was shoved in my face when all I wanted was an orange juice. The final straw was when my 4-year-old was treated rudely. A server came over, snatched a napkin from our table, and made a disparaging remark about my daughter. It was simply rude and showed a complete lack of understanding of how to interact with customers, especially children. I will not be returning to this place. I might consider grabbing a coffee to go, but the service is the heart of any business, and today we saw a prime example of how it can go wrong. Disappointing."

"This restaurant is clean and nicely decorated, with friendly staff greeting you as you enter. However, the service took a turn for the worse when it came time to order. The staff seemed to be unfamiliar with the menu, and the food itself was disappointing. The dishes tasted bland and seemed like leftovers. To make matters worse, the chicken curry inexplicably had lentils in it. When customers raised concerns about the food, the owner or manager became defensive and unable to handle constructive feedback. Overall, other diners also appeared to be dissatisfied with their meals."

"Lovely atmosphere, food was cooked right in front of you so you knew it was fresh! Very small place so was difficult to fit our table of 5 in but managed! Food had lots of flavour although one of my friends said that their salad had too much sauce on it that it became unenjoyable. Each to their own I suppose! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner"

"I discovered this restaurant on Saturday while searching for a place to eat. My two little kids and I were very happy that we found it. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and we all enjoyed our delicious meals. The portions for the children's meals were quite generous. I ordered the fish and chips, which was tasty. We decided to come back the next day for the Sunday dinner menu, which was also very good. We will definitely visit again. The staff and the food were fantastic, and there was even a band playing on Sunday that added to the wonderful atmosphere at the Churchill Tavern. We had a great time and the locals were friendly too."

"Upon arrival, the blonde waitress appeared stoney faced and unfriendly. We were sat down for 20 minutes before she came and took even our drink order, and when she eventually did, she didn't put the food order into the kitchen for another 5-10 minutes which we could clearly see. We were wondering why this took so long and then turned around to see her nattering away to a lady for about 30 minutes, as well as there being tables full of dirty things which were left for 20 minutes after people left. The food took about half an hour to come out (we only ordered eggs and Avocado on toast and a bacon sandwich) and when it did come out, it was only just warm and there was no apology for the wait. A very very disappointing visit and we will likely not be returning when the blonde waitress is working as she clearly should not.be working in a public facing job."
