"We were passing through towards Devon, and I read the reviews on The Cross Inn , and I thought naah, nothing is that good . HOW wrong could I be !. Meeting Dave at the bar, when we entered was an absolute joy. Just what a pub landlord should be, welcoming, informative and very jolly . He informed that there were only two tables free, but was happy to accommodate for just drinks. The place was packed for a weekday lunch ! . When I saw and detected the aromas the dishes coming from the kitchen, I realised why . My salivating juices got the better of me and I requested a portion of chips to share. My dimpled handle poured without request, thankfully of Palmer 's Copper was absolutely fantastic, perfect temperature, my wife enjoyed her half too. The chips were served most enthusiastically by Debbie thanks Debs , which were a delight. Debs fussed over us, sauces, salt, vinegar etc, all to ensure we were happy, just for a portion of chips ! All in all, a great experience and a great price. We will be back, love it."

"A lovely lunch! Booked ahead via email which was easy and worth doing. Lovely venue. Seating hostess extremely pleasant and a great advert for you. Went specifically for the lobster. Two reasons for deducting a star....one was lobster price had gone up on the day due to colder weather thus price increases (bit confused as we are having September heatwave? And second was lobster had a lot of dressing that I scraped quite a bit off (it overpowered the sweetness of the lobster meat which is worth tasting and enjoying . Other than that it was lovely! As a solo diner felt very comfortable. Thankyou. Will definitely come back and recommend!"

"This was an annual visit for Sunday lunch, and it is disappointing that previous standards appear to have declined: the roast dinner looked attractive but the beef was chewy rather than tender, the potatoes rather overcooked, and the gravy poorly prepared. It was not clear whether food is ordered at the bar or table, and when finished, our plates were not cleared, and no desserts were offered.: very different from our previous experience, and we noticed that there was much less of a busy atmosphere than in our previous experience perhaps others have noticed the change too?"

"We frequently visit Lyme Regis but for some reason have never tried Largigi until this summer. The Thai food is amazing and would say the best we’ve ever tasted! The staff are incredibly friendly and create a lovely atmosphere. I do prefer sitting down for lunch/dinner inside as the outdoor tables are a little small so best to book. It is, however, lovely to sit outside for a drink and a slice of their tasty cakes whilst admiring the stunning view of Lyme Bay!!! We will be back very soon!"

"This is a café and restaurant with a very nice charming atmosphere. The food is tasty and the price is good. The best is the decoration. It is diverse and you might think it does not fit but this is the special thing in here. If you don't like it when you enter, stay away. All others will love it and will always come back. "Waitresses were really helpful regularly asking if we needed anything, music wasn’t loud in there like some places so we could actually talk, really nice drink menu. Now for the most important part- food was best I’ve had in years I had the Alright Hen chicken and bbq pulled pork burger with the best chips I’ve ever had, coleslaw was perfect, tasted so fresh and good quality. Would definitely go there again on occasion. If you’re in Yeovil I recommend giving this a go as a treat."

"A very nice Italian restaurant in Monmouth Street Lyme Regis. The food was excellent and catered for my wife's Gluten intolerance with no problem. The dining room was exceptionally clean and the hygiene standard was brilliant. Very reasonable prices and a good selection of wines. My wife is now hooked on a new drink for her, Limoncello Sunrise, which was suggested by the Lady behind the bar. Well worth a visit"

"Finally got round to trying Brassica again after a few hit and miss experiences along time ago. Sadly wish we hadn't bothered. Nothing tasted awful. Simplicity is often a great thing.. however the prices don't always reflect this. Our fish was abit overdone.. foccacia stale and our frozen french fries soft. It's in the details. Wish we'd said something about these issues on the night but didn't want to taint the evening. Big reason for the low stars is the fact we payed an extortionate amount of money and 3 of the 4 of us left hungry. Paying £27-£29 for a main to then leave you hungry.. after paying £14-£15 for a starter! Their mains are not a complete meal.. you have to add sides which for the price is insane. Word of warning.. you'll have to order plenty of sides and don't go with a budget. Our friends who had come down from London were also dissapointed and shocked at the prices! Let that settle in."

"I’ve been to this establishment twice now. I am new to the area and decided to search for a local Thai near me, I stumbled across The King Thai and I am glad with the decision I made. The service was very good, and the restaurant was immaculately clean. There is a good choice of local drinks on the menu as well as good food options not a huge amount on the menu however to my mind this is a good sign that everything is cooked fresh I must also add they do not cook with any MSG or preservatives. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wether you are looking for a quick lunch or an evening meal. Will definitely be a regular customer here now. "I am so glad I finally managed to visit the Green Yard. I am normally in Bridport too early to come here (they open at 9am) but today I was a bit later. After this experience I am wishing I had stayed in bed a bit longer before all my other trips to Bridport! It is slightly off the beaten track, tucked up a side road from the main street but worth hunting down you will not be disapointed. I had scrambled eggs on toast with bacon and a 'cup ' of tea. You might think scrambled eggs are easy enough to do but so many places overcook them. Not here though; they were beautifully cooked, fresh and hot, slightly soft and a good sized portion too. The portion of bacon was equally generous. As for the 'cup ' of tea, I was presented with a huge teapot complete with at least 3 tea bags. Compare that to the tiny pots or cups you get in most places. The bill was more than reasonable, the staff, especially the owner, are friendly and efficient. I really cannot fault this place. It will be my go to place in Bridport from now on."

"Having eaten here a number of times, we were very disappointed on this occasion. Although the carvery was very acceptable it was overpriced compared to others in the town. The fish and chips, however, were abysmal. The fish was thoroughly overcooked to the point where the fish was dry, it was also cooked in dirty oil which was particularly unpleasant and the grey skin on the fish had not been removed. No-one came to the table until we had finished, when the waitress asked if everything was okay, as she cleared the plates including half of the fish and chips, and was told that it was overcooked and unpleasant but it went no further. We paid up and left but will not be rushing back."

"I was excited to go back to La Caverna with some friends, but was disappointed to find out that you have to order in advance, which is not my preference. From the moment we walked into the restaurant, our expectations quickly diminished. The greeting we received, "I'm busy dealing with this customer," was not very welcoming, and the rest of the evening continued to be frustrating with poor service. It took 40 minutes for our first round of drinks to arrive, and our starters were okay, but our mains were brought out before we were ready and some of our guests were missing from the table. We were not offered dessert or coffee, and when we ordered more drinks, they never arrived. It took over 30 minutes to get the bill, and when I asked for my remaining pizza to be boxed up, it took another 20 minutes to find a box, even though they do takeaway pizza. The staff member was rude and sarcastic when we went to pay, and made a snide comment about splitting the bill, even though there were only 5 of us. When he asked if we were leaving a tip, I firmly responded with a 'no' in front of my friends. Later that evening, I got sick and ended up vomiting everything I had eaten at the restaurant. I will not be returning to this establishment, as the poor treatment and service we received was unacceptable. I chose to spend my money here, and was disappointed with how we were treated as a group."

"The owner of this establishment almost ran me over in the street today near my home whilst driving his car at an unacceptable speed. He reversed his car back to shout at me and then did a full loop of the town to come back and shout at me again 5 minutes later whilst I was chatting to a gentleman who had visited Lyme Regis to see the house that he was born in for what he said would be the last time. Someone I had never met before. We shared lovely conversation and hugs. The owner of LBK on his second run up my street swore at me, told me to look at his private number plate on his car (LBK whatever) and told me not to go to the restaurant again. Considering that I live in Lyme Regis and support his business all year, dining there most Sundays (even when the tourists have left for the winter) how dare he behave in such a manner. Not acceptable. I would strongly recommend that nobody frequents LBK if this is the way that one will be treated. I am beyond disgusted."

"We didn't dine in, we just stopped in for some food and it was absolutely delicious! I typically don't get too excited about Italian cuisine, so I was pleasantly surprised to have one of the best meals ever at this restaurant! We started with the focaccia bread, followed by a mini cheese pizza and the mouthwatering venison ragu. The wait staff recommended the feather steak and Herby potatoes, cooked medium rare, and it was truly amazing! This restaurant is a must-visit for food in Sherborne."

"This was the best meal I have had in the 2 weeks I have been here. The starter, main course, and dessert were all amazing. I also tried my partner's dishes and they were just as good. We were so impressed that we booked another night. The chef in the kitchen is a magician and deserves all the praise. The staff serving us were lovely and provided great service. "Incredible! I won’t be cooking for another two days! Never had chips with curry sauce this good but all of it was amazing very happy hubby and son and love the fortune cookies! Lovely touch! Great variety of choices, lovely veggie options including veggie “chicken” and very generous portions. "Friday at 1 o'clock. a worker must have seen that we approach, opened the door and greeted us. it was warm with a cozy log fire. although a big mosh seemed somehow not overcrowded. had a fabulous carvery roast. they let my nab head try a taste of the bark, as he is tired of hard meat. it was the best tenderest beef we had for a long time, I had pork and it was also beautiful. a good selection of veg and guides, all beautiful and hot as the teller. also the jugendverleihpuddings were perfect. much the best and cheapest carvery I had."

"A lovely old coaching inn in the heart of Cerne Abbas. A very warm welcome from the bartender and locals alike. After much deliberation over what to choose we were then given the specials for the day, making our choice even harder! Finally settled on the steak and the beef pie with roasted cabbage. The steak was cooked to perfection and very flavoursome (it’s the only time my partner hasn’t reached for the salt and pepper). The pie was perfect, with a proper pastry top and bottom (not a stew with a lid masquerading as a pie). Crisp, delicate pastry, hearty meaty filling and the cabbage was a revelation, absolutely delicious. Thank you New Inn for a lovely evening."
