"My daughter in law, toddler grandchild and I went in here on Saturday 3 March. There were no hot meals available due to technical issues . There was nonetheless a queue of people waiting to pay, as the cashier was painfully slow and the second till was not manned. No other member of staff was available to readily communicate with, so I called out to catch someone 's attention and I asked if they were still able to toast the toastie sandwiches. They could, but when we got to the till there was no-one around to do so, so when the same chap came over to correct an error on the till I again had to proactively ask if he would toast them. I saw him putting them in the grill and we went off to our table with a number. Some time later neither the toasties or the hot drink had arrived, so I went up to the counter. We hadn 't been told that we needed to collect our hot drink, which was waiting there, and I asked when we 'd get the toasties, which I could see were still in the grill. The (different) assistant was very unenthusiastic when I asked her if I could have them, which I did because clearly no-one was taking responsibility for bringing them to us. After a couple of requests she seemingly grudgingly put the toasties on plates. I asked how long we 'd have waited for them if I hadn 't come up and asked for them and she didn 't reply. As I walked away with the very unappetising looking food, she said Have a nice meal , which, considering her attitude, I didn 't feel could have been sincere! The food was barely warm by now and very disappointing. I was describing this to a friend (Sainsbury 's please note that people pass on negative experiences more readily than positive ones) and they said that they 'd twice had a similar experience with toasted food there and agreed that there seems to be no structure in place for processing the orders and getting the food out to the customer efficiently."

"This is my third visit, and it keeps getting better! It's even more enjoyable now that we've discovered a way to walk there and take the time to appreciate the wine list."

" with a great view. They offer outdoor seating with the option to make a reservation, which is always a plus. However, I was disappointed with the slow service. Overall, it's a nice place to dine if you're not in a rush."

"I can't fully express my disappointment. We made a reservation at this restaurant for Father's Day through OpenTable, and my booking was confirmed. We arrived at the scheduled time, only to find the restaurant closed! There was no call or notification beforehand to inform us. I'm absolutely appalled. I’m not sure who is to blame—OpenTable or the restaurant itself?"

"I have been going to the Toby cottage for along time, you get greeted like an old friend. The staff are exceptional and the service is just perfect. The food wonderful but make sure you leave room for the desert trolley. Looking forward to my next visit Carol"

"This restaurant is pretty good, located near the shopping center with a nice decor that is slightly hipster but not overly pretentious."

"I've eaten with 3 friends in the anchor last Thursday. we were warmly welcomed, but had to wait for our courts to come. two of the party had chosen the burger, two the venison, the very attractive on the map. the venison came on cold plates quite a past after the burgers. the court looked nice, but was cold. it was taken away and replaced, on slightly warm tellers, but eating was best tepid. the two who eat the burgers said that their meals were not as hot as this. the side dish of the fritten was hot and perfectly acceptable. Those who chose the pears for pudding have chosen themselves well. it was delicious! we spoke our disappointment about the main courses and were not accused for them. that was a welcome and generous gesture. I can only accept (and hope) that there was a problem in the kitchen this day and that the anchor normally serves warm dishes that pierce hot on hot plates. we are happy to have a restaurant in the good food guide in front of our doorstep and look forward to a happier experience at our next visit."

"The food at this restaurant is decent, but the service was not very friendly and the prices were too high for the quality of the dishes. The Beijing restaurant in Horsell, which is nearby, offers a better dining experience."

"We arrived for our reservation on time, but ended up waiting at the door for 20 minutes. Eventually, we were seated at our table (3 adults and 1 child) and waited an extended period to place our order. When we tried to order roast dinners (since it was a Sunday), we were informed that they had already sold out by 3pm. We attempted to order off the main menu, but my desired option was also sold out. It was clear that the restaurant staff were overwhelmed and it seemed that there were deficiencies in management, as there was a lack of communication with customers, insufficient staff, and limited food availability."

"This is not a hotel and doesn't pretend to be. It's a nice pub with a few rooms. Right now they are desperately trying to recruit a chef but are finding it impossible. Consequently the lady publican is trying to do everything herself. There is no room service and no breakfast. To access your room you have to call her on her mobile to come and let you in and if you have any problems or queries they have to be dealt with over the phone too as she can't leave the bar. There are a couple of part time cleaning staff who change beds, etc. The rooms are small and crowded with furniture nowhere to sit except on the bed. All pretty basic but the beds are comfortable and everything is clean, especially the ensuite. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a small flat screen TV. Parking is difficult and there is a fair amount of traffic noise if your room is at the front. Overall it was OK, but we only needed to stay one night."

"The food was terrible, I wish I had read the reviews before paying £6 for such a disappointing meal."

"from the photos on the website, I have won the impression that there is a fairly high end steakhouse with dark wood and ambient lighting, eating elegantly served. what I found was a practically empty bright and brash-looking American diner who had not changed the decor since the previous restaurant in this place. I chose the triple cheese burger from their premium burger bay offers expected something wonderful in a shiny brioche rolls or Ciabatta roll on a wood panel. unfortunately I received a very common looking burger in the same type of Sesam-Samen-Bunge, which they can be served in every fat Burger joint on a white porcelain plate. the chips were of the basic frozen sorts, but the woofer rings looked more homemade. Although the burger tasted well, I don't feel it was worth the £12.95 I paid for it, especially as a double patty burger sounds enormous, but that was two very thin burgers thinking mcdonalds thin. the whole website is so misleading that the impression of something classic when in reality it is quite common and certainly not worthy of a birthday contract."
