"I first visited this restaurant for lunch around a week ago and was so impressed that I immediately booked for dinner last night. Every course of my three course lunch and four course dinner was fantastic. Each one was imaginative, extremely tasty and attractively presented. The lamb I had for lunch was probably the tastiest I 've ever had. All the drinks I had were of very high quality too, from the rhubarb cocktail with lunch to the wood gin and red wine with dinner. During both lunch and dinner the service couldn 't have been better very attentive and cheerful without being at all over powerîng. Contrary to one or two other reviews, I found the portions perfectly adequate, particularly given the intensity of the flavours. Four lean lamb chops and three thick slices of lean veal bellly seemed more than adequate as main courses. The starters may not have been huge but the flavours were so strong particularly the fish soup that they were also more than adequate, particularly when accompanied by the delicious home made bread rolls and creamy butter. The amounts I paid for lunch and dinner seemed perfectly reasonable; especially given the quality of the food/drinks, the very generous welcome/parting gifts from the kitchen , the plentiful free bread/butter and the minimal charge for water. I will most certainly be returning!"

"Nice Japanese food restaurant with very polite and friendly service in a quite relaxed setup. Prices are really competitive for the amount and quality of food you get served. I had the donburi combo which included a big bowl of katsudon, miso soup, 4 maki rolls and a cabbage salad. Portions were generous and taste overall good although I found too much wasabi in the salad (not even sure if it was supposed to be there? : I couldn't finish the salad because of it. The restaurant is 2 minutes away from the Kunsthaus on a rather quiet street. You can either sit inside or outside and is not pretentious at all. We tried to order some starters before the combo but the girl serving us recommended to first have the combo and then later decide if we wanted something more given the size of the combo itself: she was right, we couldn't order any more food! Plus points for the honesty."

The only flaw I would say about the food in general is that in my opinion some things could be done better! (definitely more ragù in the arancini, more crumbly cannoli pasta and parmigiana aubergines better if fried! but despite this I will return 1000 more times!"

"It was our first day in Zurich and we were looking for a halal place nearby. Ali Baba was the closest so we gave it a shot. The restaurant has an interesting mix of Turkish and Bangladeshi food options plus pizzas. We tried Kebab sandwich and pizza and found both very tasteful. The restaurant also had different curry and rice options but we didn’t try those. It’s a nice little place with good food but nothing special that compels one to visit Ali Baba."

"It is difficult to get to pizza places that offer vegan cheese, let alone delicious vegan cheese. So glad I found this place because their pizza enjoyed! You use Wilmersburg cheese, you can add the pizza to your wishes. It's just a take-off place, they make the pizza right in front of you and are fast. Definitely recommended!"

"This is probably my second-favorite restaurant in the immediate Altstetten area, coming in right after the La Taqueria. Food is always good and the value-for-money is also excellent considering Zurich prices). I live nearby, so I 've probably been here 15-20 times in the past year and a half since they opened, and every time am happy with the food and service. The pizzas are always great and with interesting variety including some with high quality special ingredients you don 't see elsewhere e.g. the Turicum pizza with mascarpone and boletus mushrooms is fantastic), all at very reasonable prices for Zurich ±18-25 chf, slightly cheaper if takeaway). The pastas also use freshly made noodles, which is pretty obvious from the taste, and the basics like carbonara are always delicious. There 's also a pretty wide selection of generic European cuisine, like steaks and cordon bleu, all of which is good but we tend to always get the specialties of pasta or pizza. Their specialty pizzas here are my favorite in Zurich although it 's not my favorite pizzeria in my entire life), and in general I find the food better than the big Italian chain restaurants like Santa Lucia and it 's miles better than the generic pizza and kebab restaurants that you find all over the place. I live close enough that it 's an easy visit for me every few weeks, but even if I moved to the other side of Zurich I 'm sure I would come back every now and then. The outside patio is great in summer, especially now that the construction at Farbhof is FINALLY finished after nearly 3 years. Well, there 's still construction, but now at least it 's 30 meters away across the intersection instead of directly in front of the restaurant, so it shouldn 't make it unbearably loud to sit outside this summer."

"I recently went to this restaurant during my four day stay in Zurich. Upon entering the restaurant, it did look cozy. Our server was friendly. The restaurant wasn't busy, but it took over an hour for our food to be served. Super slow service for...only two entrees and one serving of bread. I ordered the chicken vindaloo (which is always spicy) and it was mild. My friend ordered the chicken tikka masala (which was ordered mild) turned out being super spicy. So spicey he barely could eat it. Apparently our server mixed up the way we wanted our dishes served. The portions were average sized and priced the norm for Zurich (about USD30 for an entree). My chicken had little fat on it, but my friend's dish was loaded with fatty chicken. It was nasty. Lastly, we didn't finish our meal and asked for it to go. Upon checking our bag later back at the hotel, our server only packed half our food. Such a shame given how expensive food is in Zurich. If I would ever return to Zurich, no, I would not return to this restaurant. There has to be better Indian food somewhere in Zurich."

"My boyfriend and I ordered through Uber from this restaurant and you should take heed from the other reviewers who said that the food is bad. After about half an hour after I ate the food I had to run to the toilet and had the worst diarrhea that I experienced in a long time. It was only food poisoning that I got from the food (I ordered the dish with spinach and cheese inside with some rice on the side). My boyfriend had a delayed digestive issues a day later, so we are convinced that the food from this place is at fault. Honestly, I can't recommend eating here at all. Never again...."

"Wir hatten hier in angenehmer Atmosphäre mit viel Distanz zu anderen Gästetischen ein Lunchmenü mit der Variante Steak New York 220g.Das Essen war okay, aber leider nicht top. Die Consommé Suppe aus Rindfleisch war äusserst würzig und die Fleischstücke darin erstaunlicherweise sehr zäh. Das Steak war gut, aber geschmacklich nicht mehr bzw. nicht das was ich in einem Steakhouse und bei dem preislichen Aufschlag zum Menü erwarten würde. Die Rotweinsauce zu dünn. Der Service war ok, nicht besonders zuvorkommend. Störend hier die Maske trug die Bedienung unter der Nase. Aber nicht ganz erstaunlich, denn der anscheinend Chef sass im vorderen Bereich des Restaurants und bewegte sich durch dieses ohne Maske und man durfte seine Lieferantentelefonate oä. mithören. Schade. So ein hübsches Restaurant."

"Wir haben heute 1x Chop Suey mit Rindfleisch und 1x Schweinerippchen sweet&sour als take-away bestellt. Die Qualität des Chop Suey war okay, allerdings war es eine kleine Portion mit wenig Fleisch (das erst noch total fade war) und es hatte Dosen-Champignons drin! Das Schweinerippchen war ungeniessbar: nur Knochen/Knorpel/Fett. Kein einziges Stückchen Fleisch daran!! Auf unsere Reklamation hin wurde nochmals eine Variante mit „Rindfleisch“ gebracht: undefinierbare frittierte Streifen irgendetwas, das so „gummig“ war, dass man es nicht beissen konnte. Wir werden hier nie wieder Essen bestellen."

"We went through some of the reviews from their guests and noticed some good ones on the accommodation and service levels but we also found a good number of bad reviews in these same areas. However, our complaint and dissatisfaction comes in from a completely different angle. As luxurious and plush and comfortable as all of their accommodations may appear, unfortunately Park Hyatt’s management has a dishonest way of meeting some of their financial obligations with vendors in acquiring and selling the luxury they display. And we have been unfortunate enough to find ourselves dealing with that end of their business operation. So the moral of our review is, trying to look good on someone else’s account is not a good business practice and radiates a corrupt image of your organization. While our business experience may not directly relate to the overall image of this entity but it could certainly tell the consumer a whole lot more about the hotel’s way of conducting business deals that could trickle down to the guest level"

I learnt this the hard way the first time, when staying in a hotel with no knife. I just ate the pizza like a giant cookie."
